Here she be, up close and personal, Nokia's newly official E75 QWERTY slider. We're still not seeing much of the 9000 series heritage Nokia mentioned in its presser, but it's one sexy wide-QWERTY phone, any way you slice it. There's video after the break!
I think the heritage comes from the fact that it has 2 set of keypads.... or rather an ITU keypad and a QWERTY keypad. N97 does not have that. The bad thing about it, is that there is only 1 screen and it gets hamper by the ITU keypad.
Can you guys check one thing on this baby? Please take a look to see if their email system has a powerful search feature like the Blackberry that can search for anything just an outlook or any professional email system. Is Copy and Paste available too? :-P
Thanks for the info. Now its just wait and the N97 will definitely be the replacement of my Blackberry. I've tried replacing it with an iPhone but it didn't work due the lack of professional email, copy and paste and virtual keyboard sucks for heavy email.
Personally I think its ugly and the keys are too stuck together making it more difficult to type. But that's just me. I dont know what those guys at nokia are thinking but they better keep up with the times or they are going to get raped by SE,Samsung and HTC this year. The N97 may be sexy but we need something more compelling because 5mpx and a touch screen isnt gonna cut it. We needed the N97 LAST year. It may be coming in too late. Then there's rumors of the second coming of the jesus phone this year..... spells trouble.
yeah its alright, but its nothing special, its the same tired UI with some slight transition enhancements, i've been a nokia user for years now but i think when my upgrade comes i'll be moving to samsung or maybe even a pre, i'm a big fan of a nice UI and nokia just dosn't seem to cut it anymore. I was orignally going to upgrade to the N97 but looking at recent anoucements (omniaHD 12.1, mp sony ericsson, palm pre) i just cant see it anymore.
at its core its symbian, but from what i've seen in pictures the implementation is totally different. i was thinking more of the higher quaility screen, camera and video capabilites aswell.
It's a solid buisness smartphone that doesn't need a) A fancy touchscreen to so you press the wrong things all the time, and b) Subtlety. Considering it's an E-series, I'm not suprised to find out it has either of these.
@ berges assume this will have same features on email as an E71 I have and I run Gmail on it for a few accounts at same time with no problems at all and very easy to set up.
Thank you very much . This a great solution for me ------------------------------------- Download Free Ringtones , Free Wallpaper , Free Games , Free Themes (blackberry free themes) --> Download Here !!! http://www.mobilejavara.com

Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
Still waiting for a successor to the E90.
Would miss that wide internal screen for web surfing.
Whoa it's like CES here at Engadget all over again.

Thanks for the coverage.
I've got the new Nokia Messaging app on my E71. It's got full search and copy & paste.

Aaron has already answered your questions, so let me just add one more thing: The Search in Nokia S60 phones can search _everything_ and I mean it.
It doesn't matter if it is in an SMS, Note, email, calendar, bookmark, contact or tagged media - it will return all in a couple of seconds. I really love that feature!

Well I can confirm that the Nokia Search is in the device as in any E-series and N-series.
The Nokia Search, searches anything in:
1) Music folders
2) Contact folder
3) Agenda
4) Messages folder
5) E-mail folders (All accounts)
6) Favorites folder
7) Image & video folders
8) Aplications folders
9) Notes
10) GPS Landmarks
11) Active Notes
+
Google engine search if required too.
this is the keyboard layout the N97 deserves ..

Dunno about slider PLUS keypad. Just make it a full-face touchscreen, put the keypad on that virtually. Keep the slider, of course.
Gonna write me some letters.....
That's just like the N97 is gonna be, plus the best camera/videocam and stereo speakers ever seen on a cell phone and a good DTV viewer too
yawn
Well i like it...why is it a yawn?
Hey, how d`ya like this one?

the samsungomnia hd uses the same ui as the nokia n97
there may be some differences in implementation buts its all symbian touch?
obviosly the pre is something else.
I think they are all good and its a matter of which form factor you need plus battery life of course
Antishake, USE IT!

the qwerty buttons look hard to press.. i hope its easier practically..
This is quite a vanilla phone really. Certainly not a looker!
That's the point though, isn't it?

Anyone knows how to get the Gmail thing shown on this phone on a E71? Seems really sexy! along with the indicator showing how many mails are unread.
I think that's part of Nokia Messaging: http://email.nokia.com/account/home.action
Nah I use that but the GMAIL icon doesnt come on the menu
Will this release in the US? and if it does can you get it through a carrier?
US, yes.
Carrier, no.
irritates the hell out of me cuz i cant understand shit he says
