Samsung Beat DJ hands-on
Touch Wiz in Spanish -- you know you love it. The Engadget Spanish crew grabbed a little time with Sammy's Bang and Olufsen-powered Beat DJ M7600, and sadly, this one looks like it's better in stills -- the interface is a little laggy and unresponsive, and the "scratching" features seem like more of a goofy novelty than anything else. Vid after the break, amigos.

FIRST !!eleven!!
No just kidding.
What i want to say: Do i see right? Is that a java loading screen at the beginning?
would that mean that the whole DJ/player/whatever software is running atop java?
Might explain some of the lagginess, but might make for some good portability, so it will show up on other samsung phones?
interesting idea
A fun idea. I wish they would stop using the phrase DJ to promote it though. Could you REALLY DJ a full set for a crowd with this thing, especially with lagginess? I mean yeah to fiddle around with mash-up ideas on the subway going home, or to just mix songs together for fun or something, but a serious DJ tool this is not.
For some reason I think the "Beat DJ" name is more of a marketing tool than a descriptive tool. Regardless, whoever named this thing is a tool.
Every time someone compares a phone to the iphone I want to slap my momma. (iphone is NOT the be-all, end-all)
Actually... IT IS!
Must be the ugliest phone released this year. Even the Nokia 5800 looks good compared to it.
i can't handle the smudges
i know, it looks like the guy had oil all over his fingers
The concept is interesting, but is anyone else distressed at the lag in response and as @ahmedsendi/@dan point out the finger-oil
