Totally rad, red Xbox 360 spied in Toys R Us fine print

Is this for reals? If so... yay! If the above screenshot of a Toys R Us terminal is to be believed, there might be a new, red Xbox 360 Elite on its way to a shelf near you. Details beyond the SKU are pretty scant, but the price is the same as the current Xbox 360 Elite model -- $399. We know a certain, fashion-conscious avatar who is going to be really excited if this is true.

Retail: $0 sticks out more than red to me...
I used to get stuff from Toys R Us all the time when I was a little kid. I could barely keep my excitement (in my pants.) A couple of weeks it was my little cousins birthday so I decided to go there and get him a gift. Children crying because their mom wont buy them a videogame, overly-sexualized barbies and the stench of dirty diapers..... Why did I like this place so much?

I never really bought too much stuff from Toys R Us. The Lego there was always more expensive than Walmart's.
lol yeah the only reason i used to go to toys r us was because they had the biggest collection of legos. walmart was cheaper but the had a lot less.
dude i had the biggest (still do, don't use em tho) lego collection. thats all i would ever ask for for christmas or birthday was legos
I already have a blue metallic flake 360 that i did myself. Its neat that they are doing this for retail though. I think its something that they should have done from the start.
Doesn't really make a difference to me. My white one sticks out too much, this would make it worse...

I don't get why different colored consoles and handhelds are anything to get excited about.
It's not like a shade of red, polar white or black will make your gameplay experience any better. Besides, Microsoft should be rolling out their successor to the 360 in a year or less now.
I give it two to three years before we hear about or see a new console from any of the 3 manufactures.

Considering they just did a (Product) Red version of Vista ( http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/joinred/windows.aspx ). I can easily see this happen but you might see the (Product) Red logo on the side of your console.

omfg a red xbox! my life is complete.
if i were microsoft and the problems with the RROD they have i would stay away from anything red on that system. granted its for a good cause i know but still.
HOLY SHIT A RED 360 WOULD LOOK SO AWESOME.
But I want to see it without any chrome, just red drive tray. And the flat gray trim would go really nice with it.

The TRU inventory system has always been grossly incorrect. Trust me, I worked there for 6 years. Some inventory entry clerk probably mistyped the description.

"red" is probably just short for "refurbished".
Yeah it will be great you can send it in for repairs and some numbskull will ship it back with a white shell. Then microsoft will tell you that it is not their problem and you should not have broken it in the first place if you wanted to to keep the red color.
I dont know about that. My Xbox Elite died and it was only a year old. My orig 1st gen however noisy as it is still works. So its just a crap shoot with the MS product. My PS3 and my daughters Wii all seem to be quite happy working (cept for PS3 crappy download time)
