Engadget's recession antidote: win a 22-inch iZ3D 3D monitor!

The global economic crisis continues, (including today's sad news of HP's across-the-board five percent paycuts), which got us thinking. We here at Engadget didn't want to stand helplessly by, announcing every new round of misery without giving anything back -- so we decided to take the opportunity to spread a little positivity. We'll be handing out a new gadget every day (except for weekends) to lucky readers until we run out of stuff / companies stop sending things. Today we've got a 3D 22-inch iZ3D monitor on hand and ready to send to you. Read the rules below (no skimming -- we're omniscient and can tell when you've skimmed) and get commenting! Check after the break for some photos of the prize!
Big thanks to iZ3D for providing the monitor!
The rules:
Big thanks to iZ3D for providing the monitor!
The rules:
- Leave a comment below. Any comment will do, but if you want to share your proposal for "fixing" the world economy, that'd be sweet too.
- You may only enter this specific giveaway once. If you enter this giveaway more than once you'll be automatically disqualified, etc. (Yes, we have robots that thoroughly check to ensure fairness.)
- If you enter more than once, only activate one comment. This is pretty self explanatory. Just be careful and you'll be fine.
- Contest is open to anyone in the 50 States, 18 or older! Sorry, we don't make this rule (we hate excluding anyone), so be mad at our lawyers and contest laws if you have to be mad.
- Winner will be chosen randomly. The winner will receive one 22-inch iZ3D monitor. Approximate value is $399.
- If you are chosen, you will be notified by email. Winners must respond within three days of the end of the contest. If you do not respond within that period, another winner will be chosen.
- Entries can be submitted until Thursday, February 19th, 11:59PM ET. Good luck!
- Full rules can be found here.

A federal "Fair Play" bill should be passed requiring financial institutions to follow rules when dealing with (unsuspecting) consumers.
These are only some of the things to be outlawed:
Usury (again) interest rates above 21%,
Variable rate loans (these were a scam when they first came out),
Collusion with other financial giants like insurance companies who deny insurace due to low credit ratings (hey, if you pay your insurance bill, you should not be discriminated against).
Return the ability to discharge consumer debt in a bankruptcy, easy credit scams are probably part of the reason for the bankruptcy!
Remove the crazy ability for credit card companies to change the rules "whenever they want and for what ever reason they choose"
It's about time that financial institutions started acting morally and responsibly. They've played "fast and loose" for too long now and are destroying our nation!

To fix the world economy is very simple...let the free market do its work. Many peolpe think the free market has failed in the U.S. but that couldn't be further from the truth. We don't have a truly free market in the U.S., it's heavily regulated and politicians are in cohoots with the wealthy, with big business, with the banks, anyone that has tons of money and can lobby for things and influence laws.
Regulations are created under the false pretense that it will "protect" us from something, when in reality it just makes it harder for competition to compete, gives big business an unnatural advantage in the marketplace, and gives consumers less choice and higher prices.
The horrible Obama stimulus plan will NOT work towards fixing the economy. You can't spend yourself to prosperity, it's a ridiculous assumption that only those with no grasp of economics will believe in.
Awesome giveaway gimmme gimme gimme
Doubling our debt overnight.... where's the transparency?..... Corrupt politicians and lobbyist in a "ethical" administration..... Thank more reasons I am glad I said NOBAMA!

How about we get rid of finance majors and put engineers in charge of the economy...at least we understand how derivatives can be used to track future changes.
