YES
Yes, i know...
I also can't stand those generic stock photos of supposedly successful people... Happy... Surrounded by loved ones.....
or is it because they all have iPhone?
AHAHAH!!!
My thoughts exactly, and right around the time that my contract with AT&T expires. Hopefully this phone will be as kick ass as it looks.
I just got a Fuze a month or two ago. I've never felt so obsolete.
@suicycle: "I've never felt so obsolete"
Tell me about it! I bought the phone on day 1 launch here in the States and ALREADY there's a new version. There are a few threads of pissed off Fuze owners on xda-devs. I know technology improves very quickly, but a whole THREE MONTHS before a new one is announced and availability by the end of Q2 which is at most 9 months out from the first iteration.
They HAD to have been working on this before the TP1 was released. So basically they're pulling an EA games strategy and holding back what could've been released at launch to cash in a few months later.
Uhh that's because the Fuze was delayed by ATT. By the time the Touch Pro 2 will come out the Touch Pro will be a year old.
enohPi:
Obviously someone like you wouldn't have nice successful friends to chat to...
I really doubt the Touch Pro2 (fuze2?) will be on ATT any time soon. It takes time to ram a crappy keyboard config down a smart manufacturer's throat.
No 3.5mm jack, no purchase.
Sorry.
This whole "tweet" thing is driving me crazy. Now companies are doing it? lol.
i want the touch diamond 2 more than anything else!
i assume you already have a girlfriend, then?
you need to straighten out your priorities ham
That's pretty messed up Wako
@Lazarpandar
lol. nice!
awesome!!!
but will it have T-Mo's AWS 3G frequencies.... i hope it does!!!
htc touch pro2 or palm pre... at this point it's a matter of witch one comes out first because i'm getting very impatient
The price will be pretty neat to, i really like Sony's products but it took them an eternity to make the Xperia X1 which is probably just about the same as this thing which HTC released in a couple of months. With probably way lower costs of production because there wasnt 100 years of R&D on this thing it will be quite cheaper.
Bought!
Surely...if they (this and the Diamond 2) perform well. The screen looks beautiful and hopefully they're not slow like 1st gen Diamond and Touch Pro.
My Touch Pro is fast as hell. Then again, I ditched AT&T's rom the day I got it. I feel bad for people who never switched to a cooked rom. They are just so much better.
John Doe,
Running a Touch Pro here and it is blazingly fast after installing a custom ROM on it.
Still doesn't stop me from wanting this bad boy. Can't wait for it to launch for Sprint.
i like this phone alot, but the omission of a 3.5 head jack kills me. I know its for business users and what not, but it still pisses me off.
I agree. I hate that a lot of these phones still don't have 3.5mm jacks in them. I mean how much would it really cost and does it really matter that much to a business customer?
I totally agree. However, everything else about it is spot on. I can overlook this one omission if necessary. However, I still secretly hope that HTC will have another similar android phone out before my upgrade point that didn't omit this.
I have to say though, with this one exception this is the phone. This is the holy grail of phones. The one I've been waiting for for years. Oh how I can't wait.
I can't overlook the omission of a 3.5. If I didn't use my phone as mu primary music player, I'd have to go out and get ... a primary music player! Seriously, I know there are adapters available, but without including the 3.5, they are basically saying "hardly anybody will use this for music, and if they do, we can milk a few more bucks out of them with an adapter."
I
Hate
Adapters.
Yeah boy, although its not terribly big or anything.
Fuck those stupid dongles.
Seriously why bother with the 3.5 mm jack and the cables to hear the music. Cut the cord. Get a blue-tooth wireless headset. It would pause the music when the phone rings and resume when you finish the phone call. There are some very good blue-tooth headset now to choose from, some stereo, others mono.
Most people don't have bluetooth wireless headsets and don't feel like putting down the cash for one. In fact I thought the dongle would be no problem when I got my G1 but it's so annoying that I still carry my zune around in addition to my G1. It's just annoying to use.
Yeah, I hate it that my HTC comes with no 3.5 jacks. Blue tooth is a headache having to deal with charging, plus we're loosing out on all the great headphones (and saving) out there.
Of course, there is also the USB headset that come bundled with the HTC phone in case I don't want to spend any extra dollar.
The HTC usb headset that come with my diamond sucks. The button is big and easily gets caught by your clothes. I don't know how many times I accidentally pressed the button and called my last calls. And its a major reason I'm looking for a replacement headphones.
i guess htc isn't pretty known before. many of there smartphones doesn't have 3.5 mm but 2.5 mm. thats maybe what they are thinking since 2.5 mm is mostly use so they safely taken it off since 2.5 mm died off.
@Bchau
Planes.
If it had a 3.5mm jack then you would have nothing to live for. :)
If Palm had not won me over with the Pre, this is the most likely candidate for my next phone. Sorry, HTC. It's a beaut though!
The HTC Touch Pro 2 hardware is fantastic.... but it's the OS that makes it a no-no. The UI is splendid, but:
- The enormous screen with the gigantic resolution, doesn't stream HD.... the Touch HD with the same resolution and processor played DVDrips with choppy frame rates.
- The OS doesn't support 3D acceleration.
- Not for single-handed usage.
The Palm Pre is the best device so far. (even though I saw a recent 23 -minute demo that showed webOS to be very sluggish and slow).... but I'm waiting for the Tegra Android in Q3..... or the G3....
Not in a hurry at all.... my E65 is still kicking with GBA/SNES/SEGA/PC emulation and Skype.... plays youtube, goes online, pushes email... perfect.
Windows Mobile handles 3D acceleration just fine. It just needs the appropriate drivers for the GPU like any other phone. Remember the huge HTC lawsuit because they weren't including it?
TareX,
False.
WinMo handles 3D acceleration just fine.
There are cases where the manufacturers of 3D chips dont provide proper drivers to get adequate 3D performance out of their hardware, but the point stands that it is entirely fallacious of you to assert that Win Mo does not handle 3D when it does elegantly if properly supported by the driver manufacturers.
I've have 3d acceleration running great on my old ATT Tilt right now.
The drivers are available for free from third party developers. You just need to run WinMo 6.1. My Mobile SPB Shell is working really good and the Tilt has never run so fast before.
Next to useless without a side scroll wheel and D-pad. Will be forced to stick with my HTC Hermes.
Scroll wheels and D-pads are soooooo 2007. It's all about the finger now.
Does anything have a side scroll wheel anymore? It's a shame, I do think they're convenient, but they seem to be considered "old news".
Miro: are you saying phone makers are giving us the finger now?
To hell with the side scroll + d-pad. The trackball is far better IMO for non-touch screen navigation.
I have to agree, scroll wheels and d-pads are wicked useful...Sucks it won't have one.
I've never used the trackballs, but they seem like they'd be equally as nice to have.
Also, that keyboard looks like crap. HTC's ones with connected keys are WAY nicer.
Eek. I hadn't noticed this omission until you point it out. I use the d-pad on my touch pro on a regular basis for text editing. Oh man. :-/
Knocking the Dpad is foolish, its handy for a number of things, I use it a lot on my TILT along with touchflo.
Since the PPC-6700 Ive been hooked.... I need to replace my mogul and this would be the item to do just that.... Pending its on sprint network and all......
