Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5
A look back on popular stories from today in a specific year.

Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
I will buy it next olny if they ditch the Crappy Qualcomm processor and use Marvell Xscale processor and a dedacated Graphics card... like Nvidia or ATI.
I agree, I'll wait until they ditch Qualcomm. My Tilt was a disappointment, and I owned a Fuze for 1 week before taking it back.
NVIDIA... lol. I'd rather not buy another WinMo phone using an NVIDIA GPU. I'm a bit bitter against NVIDIA and their poor GoForce 5500 support used in WinMo phones like the Toshiba G900 and O2 Xda Flame.
@ "iPhone backwards" (by the way...umm...very clever?)
Yes, those stock photos of people are smiling during their video conference call because they have iphones...
...they must be so happy about having a real qwerty keyboard...and unified contact conversations...a front facing camera for video chats...a 3.2 megapixel camera...ability to send mms messages...expandable memory...
Wait, you don't have that with your iphone?
And you're an idiot for even comparing the two since this phone is aimed at real business people (because of it's conference-like speaker phone feature) and not the average consumer. So go write that crap on a Touch Diamond 2 post (of course the specs are almost identical so you probably should bother).
I know I shouldn't respond to you trolls, but you just make it so easy.
Hopefully this comes out for my beloved t-mobile.
I'm getting the G1 sometime this week but its not through t-mobile meaning I'll be up for the 2 year discount as well as once i hit 22 months with t-mobile i'll extend it for 2 years with the unlimited family plan and probably pick this beauty up. I HOPE!!! T-mobile adds this beauty to their line up and not a nerfed version like we saw in the T-mobile Wing.
I'd love to be able to run Android on this beauty...
Looks like they are finally coming out with a god upgrade from my Tilt.
There really was no good reason for me to upgrade from the Tilt to the Fuze, what it offered was nominal. The general speed was not that much of a boost (because as it seams windows mobile can only be so fast, heck my Tilt is faster then my 624mhz X scale in my Advantage) The screen SIZE was the same, though it has a higher Res. The keyboard may have had more buttons, but they where smaller, and not as nice.
Now this gives me a reason to sell both my Tilt and my Advantage. The advantage was nice for a large screen device...but a 3.6 inch device with a high res screen would give me what I need on both a pocket able device, and a enjoyable device. Looks like I have some selling to do...
hmm this or the palm pre... it all depends on which come out first and the price HTC phones seem to run on the high high high price range
I like the phone, but mainly I wanted to post my avatar next to yours.
When will they realize, Windows Mobile = Killing Mass Sales.
You can say that with a straight face?
HTC keeps making their best phones with WinMo for a reason.
This is great new!
But on the other side, I'm quite bummed out because I've been pretty much the the first person in my town to own an HTC branded phone before it hits the states. I have always been the person with the unique phone. I was the first in the area to own the TYTN II and Touch Diamond months before it came to the US. Currently, I own the Touch HD, and so far have yet to encounter someone else with it =D
Yes, I know its very selfish of me to always be the only person with the phone, but I like to own phones that rarely anyone has.
Then again, its great to hear that many people are interested in HTC phones, and is finally getting the publicity it deserves!
WTF? I JUST got my Touch Pro less then 5 months ago... now its been replaced.... Bloody hell. I'm never getting a HTC again...!!!
Are you stupid? The Touch Pro was announced almost a year ago, and it'll be a year since the announcement when this is released. That's pretty normal in the fast-moving technology world. Also, it's not HTC's fault that AT&T take far too long to get their phones out.
Technology advances. Nobody's making you buy this upgrade. Stop being a fucktard.
I agree, the Touch Pro has been around for a while, just not on US shores due to delays (iPhone agreements maybe?)
I hope Tmob picks this up, otherwise I'm off to ATT for some winmo love.
Guys if you have a touch pro or att fuze you have the better phone.
The touch pro/fuze has the same speed processor and same amount of ram. The touch pro/fuze has an led light for the camera and the touch pro 2 doesn't
The touch pro/fuze has a start button omn the keyboard and front of the phone too. Also the touch pro/fuze has a hardware d-pad that the touch pro 2 doesn't have.
Also any touchflo3d enhancements will be backported via xda-developers.
The only reason to get the touch pro is if you want a slightly higher res screen or the tilting screen . everything else the touch pro / fuze has or will have.
I think the touch pro 2 is a big ripoff. why even bother?
Yeah I'm aware of all that. Don't care about the LED or the d-pad (arrows available on the keyboard if needed) and not everyone has the time or inclination to go the XDA route. The speakerphone improvement is huge for a lot of us.
The Fuze is OK but many of us want a larger screen. The VGA screen in nice on the Fuze but way to small.
Let's just hope they don't strip out the front camera when they release it in the United States like all the other versions they have (AT&T TyTn II versus the US AT&T Tilt)

Touch pro 2 release = lower price on ebay for the fuse. Sweet.
indeed :)
Verizon will be a year behind the other carriers in releasing this, gleefully researching what they can disable while still charging more for it. Seeing as how I bought my Touch Pro the day it was released back in November, I am gratified that only four months have passed before a superior model is announced. There are still next to no Verizon TP accessories on the market (because their model has a different shape than the other models), and now there will likely be none as focus shifts to the newer model.
Please choose one of the fallowing to fill in the blank.
I would like to run ______ on this baby!
1) andriod
2) WinMo 6.5
3) Palm WebOS (I'm a dreamer)
5) iPhone OS ('cause it would piss off the fanboys)
4) your mom
For your mom, can we change run to ride?
5.)
But then again, there is iFonz & S2U.
Sorry, thought you said Fuze. But my point still stands. It's not HTC's fault you bought the phone a while after you could have. This phone isn't out yet, it'll be 7/8 months after the last's release.
Damn comment system, was another reply to Amirisme
