Reminds me of my Docomo phone back in college...the highest ring volume setting had a parenthesis (dangerously loud). I remember studying on my desk holding my phone in my hand, putting my elbows up, and thinking...shit nearly fell outta my chair when the phone rang.

The alarm is louder, but a friend's daughter had one like this when I was in Japan... 3 years ago.

1) That looks like a Korean schoogirl's outfit... ok...
2) I second the "wtf?" with the fingernails, but I've seen other Korean friends with weird nail polish. (I'll never understand Korean fashion.)
3) This will be a godsend to women and kids in Korea. A bunch of local news lately has been about kidnappers, rapists and murderers. Also, the cops recently caught a guy who later admitted to them that he'd killed over a dozen women, not just the one he'd be charged for. Lots of people here are still freaked by the revelation.

Who are you referring to as terrorists? Rapist,Muggers,Radical Muslims? To have a reasonable amount of fear and awareness in certain situations is not only normal, but smart. I doubt a 100db siren would have any effect against an airplane flying into a building or a bomb exploding in a subway. I'm sure this will help bring a sense of security whether affective or not to women and computer geeks who find themselves alone in a rough part of town,parking garage at night or suspect someone creeping around outside the house.
