Apple Store is down worldwide, new iMac, Mac mini, and Mac Pro inbound?

Yes, it's that most exciting time of the week for all the Mac fanboys and fangirls, when the Apple Store goes down and nobody knows why. Okay, so we're pretty sure we know why, but that doesn't mean there couldn't be some other surprises afoot, and everybody loves a surprise -- except those with weak bladders or congenital heat defects, generally. Lovers of stylish desktops should be in for a treat today, but you just never know for sure until the site re-appears. We'll be watching closely for that to happen.

They know dutiful bloggers will cover it. Despite their well know sarcasm an cynicism for gimmicks, when other companies do stuff like this, they still do it with a straight face out of loyalty/bias towards Apple.

It gives the signal to their fanboys to breakout the pompoms and gush all over the internet.

I get the feeling we'll only see the Airports, Time Capsule, and an iMac refresh today. The Mac Pro and mini more likely later this month with the rumored March 24th event.

But hey, if I'm wrong I'll be as happy as a pig in crap, cause I'm waiting on that Mac Pro refresh.

Events are for redesigns generally, not refreshes. Now, if a refresh happened to coincide with Macworld or WWDC, then it would be announced, but they're not going to call a special event just to announce an iMac that has a faster processor and more RAM. Though if they did, some of you would ask why they didn't just make an announcement. Seriously, if you just stop being a tool (I know, tall task for many of you) and start thinking (even if for just the first time), the actions of most companies really do make sense.

Oh, and the term "fanboy" is getting old, and yet many of you use it like it's some gift to posting. I guess that's what happens when you work at Verizon and live in your mom's basement.

Where is the BluRay option???? Rumor is Steve has changed his tune and they have negotiated an acceptable agreement. Hopefully on the next refresh??????
