Cowon D2+ PMP now shipping to the US

It just made its official debut a little over a week ago, but Cowon's new D2+ PMP is now already available to order for folks in the US, and at pricing in line with the previous D2 model, no less. That means $139.99 for the 8GB model and $179.99 for the 16GB, which are each otherwise identical, and pack a 2.5-inch QVGA touchscreen, an FM radio, line-in and TV-out ports, an SD card slot for further expansion, and support for all the usual audio and video formats. You will, of course, have to make do without that DMB TV tuner found on the Korean model, but If that non-functional omission isn't too much of a deal-breaker, you can get your order in by hitting up the read link below.

This would not look out of place as some sort of industrial display that shows "ERR 99 UNKNOWN SYSTEM MALFUNCTION" on some conveyor belt.
WHAT?! Only the black one is available? Sure it looks good but what about the other colors? Its always got to be black and white over here in American huh? Why don't we Americans get more color choices? I'm sure people would consider the other colors just as much as this Black one. Hell I want a Yellow one.
i love black, but what would be more important to me is if they got rid of the stupid file-limit at last?
4000 files on internal plus 4000 on sd card like in the old d2 is too little for me.
otherwise it sure is a great player with even greater sound quality.
Once you black, you can't go back! :D
ahh, finally! this is a good alternative to the s9 because of the expansion and well, the o2 is a bit of disappointment firmware wise.
I don't understand why there still isn't a microSD slot.
because there's an sdhc slot?, so you could just use an adapter in the event that you felt like using microsd instead.
still not enough space, why cant they make a true HDD player for the competition, one that has ID3 tag support and one that doesnt run windows on it, christ sake
I was with you right up until the comment about running Windows.
check out the A3.
and that part about the windows thing...ya...about that...
What does this have that the regular D2 doesn't?
The "+" at the end.
What!!! No widescreen touchscreen wifi browser with accelerometer . Get serious already . Zero competition to iPod touch . If u look at picture hard enough ,has fail written all over. Weak 2.5 inch screen ,.,no touchkiller here. We are seriously years away from seeing touchkiller ,,years away.
~50 hour battery life and phenomenal sound quality. It's not the same market as the touch.
Curious, who would drop 180$ on this here in USA,,,?????
I had 2 of them, EXCELLENT player. You can get an 8gb SDHC card for about $15 around the web.
I have a D2 and still use it pretty much every day. I love it...portable, really long battery life, nice screen, really good codec support and sound quality, customizable interface (you can create your own with flash or reskin the default one), there are a lot of things to like.
Is that *matte* black?
Can someone please make a large storage capacity player with decent sound quality, finally?
My money would've went to the Archos 5 if it had a better line out.
My money would've went to any other DAP if they liked to go above 60GB; the Zune only works for Windows and at least the iPod works for both Windows and Mac.
Guess I still have to keep waiting.
I would love to get one if they made it with a digital tuner to watch OTA TV.
Can someone please tell me what's new in the D2+ ?
(contrasting with the D2)
