Just like Eye-Fi
promised in January, the WiFi SD card maker is adding video sharing to its repertoire. The new Explore Video and Share Video cards bring video sharing and 4GB capacities to the existing photo sharing lineup. The new cards go for $99 and $79, respectively, while the old 2GB Eye-Fi Home and Eye-Fi Share cards have been marked down to $49 and $59 each. The cards can handle uploads to YouTube and Flickr, and are built for HD uploads, and naturally the Explore card adds the hotspot service and geotagging on top of regular service. You can pre-order the cards today, and they should be shipping by the end of the month. Eye-Fi is also releasing a free iPhone app (
as promised) this week, which works with your existing Eye-Fi account (yeah, you need to own a card) and allows you to upload iPhone shots to the same 25 services the SD cards work with, along with the computer syncing Eye-Fi is known for.
There's an App for about anything!
WiFi as in wireless cards?
can somebody explain. if these cards are wirless, where do they draw their power from?
Finally!
This is really what I've been waiting for from Eye-Fi!
Nice. : )
Agreed. I could definitely see buying one of these cards now, especially if I was going to do a photo stream of my travels on flickr or something.
so I need to buy one of their cards' which doesn't work in my camera or any of my devices in order to use the app they are selling for the iphone ? thats a crock
The app is free, they're not selling it. The world doesn't exist just to give you free stuff.
Pixelpipe is already out for free at the appstore, it works great to upload cycorder and iphone video recorder files along with pictures to any service currently out there.
Still no support for PEF and NEF RAW formats.
My Eye-Fi is collecting dust.
Then maybe it's time to move on.
Yeah the lack of support for raw seems to be the biggest complaint about the eye fi, and the fact that it sucks your battery power super fast.
What?!? No firmware upgrades for current users!?!
What the F is the difference between Explore video and Share video?
