Samsung's NC20 gets hands-on treatment, US availability date
We've already seen Samsung's borderline netbook unboxed and on sale across the pond, but up until now, us Yanks have had to sit and ponder whether waiting for this to come Stateside was a worthwhile use of time. For those that held off, kudos. Laptop has received word from Sammy itself that an Americanized version of the 12.1-inch, VIA-powered NC20 will ship here in the United States starting on March 6th. At least initially, the computer will be offered up exclusively through NewEgg.com, and we're told that the US version will be black in color and equipped with a 5900mAh battery. The only detail that wasn't disclosed was the price, so it seems we've a few hours yet to wait before that becomes clear. Check the read link for an unboxing of the white Korean model should you so desire.

If the NC10 was anything to go by this could sell quite well.
Black in color?
Yes, it's reported that the US version will be black.
No, black in spirit.
It's out on March 16th (two weeks from today), not March 6th.
i agree, but what is so special about this laptop?
I don't think there is anything outstanding about it. That doesn't mean to say it isn't good. Perhaps it depends what sort of consumer you are but I would be happy with this little gadget. Why wouldn't you get one if you wanted a 12" slim light weight netbook that can run day to day apps? As an NC10 owner though I don't really need one! :)
"So it’s good to hear that the VIA CPU and graphics can keep up with high-definition content. 720p video pushed CPU load to between 30 and 50-percent, while during 1080p playback the CPU peaked at just 80-percent. That’s enough to make an Atom netbook owner jealous. "

I hope they release a blue one like the NC10, if so I'm guying it.
guying = buying
That's what he said.
(liberal variation)
Nice stickers! LOL.
uhnmmm you cannot hackintosh it :/ can you?
Finally, someone's stepping up to the plate in the netbook market. I was getting pretty tired of the same old Atom/GMA950 combo. This will be welcome and hopefully will make other manufacturers release new netbooks with HD capable graphics instead of rehashing old tech (i'm looking at you Asus 1000HE).
Does anybody know if this model will have easily replaced RAM and HD? Or did they go the moronic route of the Aspire One?
Does anybody know where I could purchase the Samsung NC20 in white?
