While we've already shown you exactly what ASUS' new Eee PC 1008HA looks like, we stopped by again today to take a peek at a less obvious new addition. The Eee Dock app launcher is making its debut on this here netbook, giving users an easy way to access a few common areas from a pull-out dock that can be positioned on the top, bottom or left / right sides. While we assume the 1008HA we toyed with had been on for days sans a reboot, the Eee Dock was a touch sluggish, though it did seem to get the job done if you weren't expecting lighting fast reactions. Our biggest knock was the inability to customize what apps and locations could pop out from the main menu, though we're cautiously hoping ASUS adds that ability in the future. Hit play above to have a look, or feel free to browse the stills below if that's more your style.

And what does rebooting have to do with anything? My, what Microsoft Windows has taught the consumer. . . computers need rebooting every several days or they get slow and/or incapacitated, viruses are a way of life. . . etc.
Android is a linux kernel with everything else running in single threaded Java. Java is not great on x86, Windows would be ALOT better or a linux distro.

Hmm... The transitions seem a little on the slow side.
How so?
Looks like one of those things I'd want to uninstall immediately.
One word: ugly
I'd use RocketDock over that any day.
B-F-D
Reminds me of the Dell Dock which I have disabled a long time ago... This would unnecessary when Windows 7 comes out, I guess. :)
would *be* unnecessary
me me me pick me
OK, I pick you.
1997 called. They want their crappy, useless OEM-installed desktop accessories back.

Yeah, but if you install Android on your netbook, at least you can hold it to your ear and make phone calls.
Does anyone have a price on this thing
THIS get's an Engadget post? Along with a picture gallery?
