While
wireless USB hasn't exactly, um,
taken off, there's definitely still some promise here. We swung by the USB-IF's booth today at
CeBIT in order to have a look at a new single-chip Fujitsu Siemens' solution along with IOGEAR's recently released
Wireless USB Audio / Video Kit. The former is mostly a European version of the
Wisair Wireless USB Display Adapter Set, and while the latter seemed to work perfectly fine in the demo, the resolution was decidedly
not 1080p. Nowhere close, actually. We reckon this stuff will get some real traction if and when two things happen: 1) the industry embraces it and begins embedding it into products (no one likes dongles, sorry!), and 2) when prices fall to reasonable levels. Can we get somebody on that, or what?
There ARE application that don't require HD you know...
Question about the wired USB display adapters:
Do THEY do 1080p or UXGA? If not, how much resolution do they handle?
Thanks
google is your friend. :)
Panasonic has some wireless hdmi tech which is suppose to work very well..
only a matter of time till the tech is implemented into computers..
Perhaps they should start to make notebooks with recessed USB ports for various dongles, or agree on some sort of attachment that makes dongles not stick out like that, perhaps a 90 degree USB port you can pull out from the back of the screen so the dongle sits flush against the back of the screen.
Point being that someone on this planet of 6,765,127,722 (03/07/09 at 23:52 GMT US census) people must be able to think up something.
Get to work on it, then sell my your idea once you get profit
Hmm, I think I start by learning the basic 2000 chinese characters then.
Hi, I've bought iogear usb-vga kit without audio receiver part from buy.com for cheapest price. Received only today. Couldn't able to connect receiver part to my lcd tv because there weren't any vga-vga cables in package :-( Tomorrow I have to buy additional cable for it.
