Just because he decided to depict her as a little more attractive than she is doesn't mean it's wrong. A little misleading, but he's the artist...his choice.

This happened to me when I left my MacBook on top of my PS3 :(
If someone makes a mod for their PS3 out of 12 dildos and some glue will engadget feature it?

And frankly it looks like someone took a crap on it.
I see a lack of chrome and 4 usb ports.. Looks like he used a 20 or 40 GB model.

Engadget keeps giving us these "mods" that all seem to fall under the same category: Take something popular (movie toy, comic book, game character, etc), and stick the guts from a piece of tech hardware into it.
This one does less, in that it doesn't even step away from the original hardware; It just staples a few tentacles and claws on it and calls it a day.
"Ugly to non fans"? Try ugly to big fans. Holy shit, I might vomit.

Some of you, most of you - are truly drama queens, vicious hateful ones.
It's not ugly in the meaning of the word at all. It's ugly as you'd describe it in the movies. Gross and disgusting even. It really does look like the undulating 'inter belly' that's what I affectionately call the gooey, slimy hive they build wherever they plan to proliferate, of the alien universe. That thing Ripley walks/falls into, made of alien scale and slime that grows on it's own, their 'carapace' depicted in most Alien movies. So, as it is as a case mod, it's pretty awesome looking. I'd love this mod if I were a huge Alien fan (and wanted a PS3).
Can you imagine the guys at sony getting this in the mail for repairs?
I think this mod looks fantastic. I think most people here just fallow Engadget's taste rather than anything else. This looks so cool and so alike the alien creatures!

This time, though, instead of sticking the guts into a pop-culture toy, they took a pop-culture toy and glued parts of it to the original hardware.
Not a "mod" - A travesty.
Coincidentally, I recently modded my Alien Halloween costume to look like a PS3. I'm glad someone out there shares the same sense of logic as I do!
