NBC Universal content now available on PlayStation Network
Good news for Playstation 3 owners -- NBC and Sony have just announced that NBC Universal content is now available on the PlayStation Network. In addition to NBC shows like The Office, 30 Rock, and Heroes, new movie releases like Milk and Role Models will hit PSN day and date with the DVD release, and back-catalog titles like The 40-Year Old Virgin and The Big Lebowski should already be up. Pricing is ballpark with the competition: $2.99 to $5.99 for SD and HD rentals, and $9.99 to $14.99 for SD and HD purchases. Not bad, but we won't be happy until these fools drop the shenanigans and give us what we really want: Hulu. Make it happen, guys.

They need to put some free content up there if they want it to take off...ie netcasts, a few free Sony movies/TV, etc....
I purchase games from the PSN, and love that. However I'm really disappointed on the prices of the streaming movies. I use Netflix and do stream movies from them, but they don't have all movies available with streaming. On the PSN I see movies that I'd like to see, but Sony charges way too much for them. If Sony dropped the prices I think that a lot more people will use their service. Lowering the prices to $2.99 SD and $3.99 HD would make the service much more appealing to me. At those prices I'd be stupid not to rent streaming movies as they would be better prices than the local video store and I don't have to leave home. The purchase prices I am okay with.
Agreed. $1.00 more for the HD version of a rental is entirely enough. I'm not paying $5.99 for an HD rental. The SD versions are a good move, but the HD versions are FAIL.
Sony is greedy.
NBC is greedy.
I see that price as fair for a joined venture between them.
Who cares. They are more expensive than BlockBuster BRD, HD Pay Per View, AppleTv HD rentals (not sure about netflix) AND there's no previews!?! Sorry, but with AppleTV and most HD Pay Per Views, I get to see a trailer of the movie before I order it and for less. I'll keep my PS3 for games and watching movies, not downloading them.
Pshh, why dont they give it up already, I mean $3 for a tv show? Mediatomb + rtorrent FTW
