Nokia introducing 5030, 5330, and 5730 XpressMusics at tomorrow's event?
We know that the shindig Nokia's putting on tomorrow has something to do with music, so it's certainly within the realm of possibility that we'd see some new XpressMusic handsets there, and indeed, All About Phones seems to have scooped the goods. It looks like we'll be treated to no fewer than three models -- all Xpress-branded, naturally -- starting on the low end with the 5030 candybar. This one eschews XpressMusic for the less audiophile-sounding "XpressRadio" name, pimping its in-built FM radio support and a large, squarish speaker around back at a crazy low price of €40 ($51) unsubsidized. Moving one rung up the range is the 5330 XpressMusic slider, packing a 3.5mm jack, some sort of special light effects for the ravers in the audience, and 24 hours of listening time; it'll be available in the third quarter for €160 ($204). Finally, we have the rumored 5730 (pictured) -- the only of the three to run S60 and lay claim to a genuine smartphone title. This one follows in the E75's footsteps by packing both a numeric and a landscape QWERTY slide, WiFi, a 3.2 megapixel cam, HSDPA, and GPS, but the most interesting new feature here might be the "Xpress Home Screen" which exposes your loaded media right from the phone's -- you guessed it -- home screen. This one should hit in the second quarter for €280 ($357) and will be offered in a Comes With Music version in some countries. How's about killing off DRM while you're at it, Nokia?
Update: iDNES.cz points out that the 5030 has already been on sale in Pakistan since November, so it's conceivable that Nokia will be using the event to present the low-end phone to a broader audience -- or that it won't be shown at all.

the font on that keyboard looks like shit
No, your taste in design is shitty.
@Leo: Thank you! We need more support for our Dot Matrix Revival Movement.
I'd be skeptic on the 3G radio on these 5XXX for now......
The 5730 is an E75 in disguise... I wouldn't say no if someone offered me one... fugly as hell but well connected with its Quad band EGSM and dual band HSPDA 3G+ and 3.2 mpix camera.
NOW, THAT is a sexy looking phone (minus the font on the keyboard).
You think that thing looks good ! ... IMHO it looks horrible but technically it is an E75 so yes ... I want one ..
with the 2 buttons over the screen and the horizontal qwerty, this phone should come with VGBA (gameboy advance emulator), VSUN (SNES emulator) and Pico drive (Sega genesis emulator).
They work on my E65 perfectly.
if everything posted here is true, this IS my next device! I have been eying the e63 and e71 for some time now, and I think this could be the nokia to put me over the edge...
E71 is better. Always better.
Thinner
Works for single hand usage
You get your email on your homepage
But no it's not as fancy looking (software-wise) as the ones here.
Is Nokia ever going to do a deal with ATT to get some good phones on there network?
i believe so...
http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/06/verizons-nokia-intrigue-atandts-e71-lg-zenon-and-others-expec/
I don't know that they should.
The unlocked phones that Nokia makes now aren't too expensive compared to the phones that Att has now iphone, so why limit yourself to a single carrier?
i know.,att is in dire need of a higend musicphone.,.,they just dont have one. Oh what will they do.,nokia makes the ultimate music phone of all time..NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!this crap cant even replace my ipod touch 2g .,so stay on the other side of the pond. Ok ive spoken n silenced all.
No your a dikhead shugg so piss off.
Trolling engadget is pretty nifty you guys :D
Is Nokia seriously ever going to come out with a phone that TRULY gives the iPhone, G1 or Pre a run for their money? I mean seriously - these handsets look so dated. Is Nokia living under a rock or something? Where's the Nokia phone that has people queueing for days outside their flagship stores? They need to get their friggin act together.. and yes, I'm also looking at you Mr Sony Ericsson!!!!
nokia has the n800 and n810 internet tablets which both obliterate the iphone in everything but calls because they are not phones. I hope they finally show us the next tablet tomorrow because it will be freaking amazing.
Nokia N97
Hello, the E71 comes with HSDPA and iPhone only gives you 3G. FORTUNE and WIRED both hailed E71 as the smartphone of the year. The e-mail is really easy to setup with its copy+paste feature and even to turn it as your 3G modem with your Macbook is really easy!
What NOKIA needs to do now is to build up their catalog of software on Marketplace. The Nokia BetaLabs also have some cool products the pipeline. Need to get them out in the market soon!
QVGA for everybody! Yay!
:(
Ugly, ugly, ugly
ah Nokia, the best cell phone maker, pulling some nice devices out of their hats.
Yet, the N95 I purchased 2 years ago still hasn't been beat... what gives?
I won't buy another nokia until there is something worth buying.
Nokia.. Stop releasing devices with weak cameras (with no xenon... my K750 had that) , old OS's.
Its time to step it up a notch and come out with something worth buying. I want more Megapixels and a NEW OS, im tired of S60 3rd, ZzZZzzZ......
Your K750 did not have xenon, more megapixels don't mean better quality, and there's an OS newer than S60v3, S60v5 :P
i meant K790, my bad...
Holy buttons Batman!
bottom line comment: nokia has express ,
Apple has iPhone . This is the current state of nokia , they have clearly been demoted to lowend cell manufcturers.,,yes they sell handsets. Lowend handsets. iPhone seriously starting to kill nokia as well as palm.
Nokia's Vertu line sells phones that cost thousands.
@Al, if you put a diamont in a shit, you get an expensive shit, but still it is a shit...
@Shank, it was announced during this year that Nokia would focus primarily on budget low end phones as opposed to high end models. I do agree that some of the designs are 2003 and we're still in 3.2Mp terroitory without xenon flash. And no, Applie is NOT killing Nokia (Palm, that's a different story), Samsung, SE just on the basis of one pathetic device that is purely hype beyond definition.
And I meant Apple, damn Mac keyboard!!
