Sprint keeping its options open with LTE?
Sprint hasn't been coy about its love and adoration for all things WiMAX, and while it obviously has a vested interest in seeing the next-gen wireless protocol thrive, even it isn't completely ignoring the possibility of dabbling in LTE. Or, at least that's the impression we get from a recent spokesman answer to a question on whether it was "evaluating LTE equipment." Speaking on behalf of the carrier, John Polivka wouldn't go so far as to confirm nor deny whether it was actually dipping its toes into LTE testing while its Clearwire buddies weren't looking, but he did affirm that "as a prudent technology development organization, [Sprint] is always collecting competitive information about various technologies / equipment to monitor and asses the competitive landscape and any potential impacts to Sprint's plans." We've already seen a few CDMA mainstays admit to siding with LTE for 4G, and honestly, we wouldn't be shocked to see Sprint eventually cave too. Whatever stops the bleeding, right?

looks kinda ugly
nascar knows no ugly
Im going to be selling VoIP and WiMAX this summer.. Hope it goes through well.
wow can't believe they are going to make Nathan Barleys phone for realz.
They wouldn't be the first operator to be working on WiMAX and LTE at the same time. KDDI's planning to build an LTE network while their version of Clearwire, UQ Communications, is working on WiMAX.

Had to throw in that jab about bleeding customers, huh?
That's it Dan, see the LTE! WiMAX is "fools gold". 98.9% of the global operators are trending towards LTE (even the big red V). Don't be caught ass-out, if you will. Think of all of that future 4G in/out collect roaming revenue, er chedda! Just sayin...
"monitor and asses" ... you mean "assess"?
I hate to break the news to you but WiMAX is here now. It is up and running in Baltimore & Portland. I spotted Clearwire vans in Boston, their XOHM division that had offices in Boston made the shift to Clearwire. Sprint owns 51% of Clearwire and access to all that WiMAX network. Sprint dipping their feet into LTE means Sprint would have access to WiMAX and LTE networks... I guess that is a bad thing (for Verizon & AT&T) This will allow Sprint to leverage their network assets to provide the most optimal experience for their customers. Basically SPRINT HAS BANDWIDTH. Eventually Sprint will be able to route traffic more efficiently using WiMAX for Data, LTE for Streaming Content. I already utilize their new Push-to-Talk service that is run through their EV-DO network. WiMAX has been around for quite sometime and Sprint is just in time to launch LTE along side Verizon & AT&T, but like always Sprint will be the leader.
I am a customer of Sprint and use their online Plan optimizer to adjust my plan pricing on a monthly basis. Every month the plan optimizer lets me compare my current usage with the most cost efficient plan for me at that time without having to commit to any new contract. The ability to always be able to customize my account to the most optimal level is very cool. Sprint provides you with easy-to-read graphs and charts that allow you to see your month to month savings.
Wow.. How long you been working for Sprint?
Last year at a Dolphins football game, I rented a Kangaroo satellite player. It looked relatively similar and design and the Kangaroo player came loaded with DirecTV. I wonder if this is a similar model/machine/manufacturer/etc.
