Video: Fun with a microwave and PS3

While the image above may be disturbing to the PS3 faithful, the path taken to its artistic destruction is oddly intoxicating. It's the latest console mod / art piece by the microwave Intertainer going by the alias d0vetastic. The video is long, real long at 12 and half minutes -- no sound track, no voice over, just you and your computer holed-up with a coagulating 60GB PS3 console and controller. So pull up a chair, set the video to full-screen and prepare to feel the darker side of your emotional response system. Anyone can microwave popcorn -- only an artist can microwave his gaming console. Heh.

Hmm..this isn't really art work. Dude probably just caused quite a bit of pollution. I wonder if anyone ever told him not to burn plastics, electronics etc.

I get it. Any time someone alters their consumer electronics in any way, especially if it's a gaming console or PC, you have to make a news story out of it and declare it a "mod" worthy of taking up space on Engadget.

Hey. I'm going to go spill some epoxy on my Atari 2600, and then maybe I'll put some of those googly eyes on it. Think that will rate some space?

While I don't have a PS3, and do have a 360, there are certain points to this video I object. I do think the case looks pretty cool now with all the eyes, but burning the hardware and making the whole thing useless seems kind of stupid. If he had microwaved the case, then put the hardware back in to make it a case mod, then that would be just kickass.
