Ladies and gentlemen, we now present even more shots of the CDMA-equipped
BlackBerry 9630 Niagara that was caught
strutting its stuff earlier this month. Not only is the phone turned on this time, but we've also caught it lying across some shagadelic leopard print. Additionally, the fine folks over at the
Crackberry forums have a couple of less stylish pics, allegedly uploaded by someone trying to hawk the phone on craigslist for a cool $800. Those images show off what appears to be a battery slot on the back that's slimmer than current models. Until RIM decides to give us some official visuals, we remain ever-hopeful that someone with the leaked phone manages a sexier photo shoot. More spy shots, including that of the mobile's underside, after the break.

Woo, At least it's not blurry. :P
COME TO SPRINT.....Pleeeeze. I dont want a Pre i want this.....Better Keyboard...And ive Had a HTC Touch For Almost 2 years now so im tired of Touchscreen.
how could you NOT want a pre?!
i totally agree with u!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i would be traumatized if i had a htc touch for 2 years as well.,.,that is a mediocre at best touch screen phone.,.,on your next ppurchase it would help u to be well informed.,.,a phon with buttons??that is so 1998.,get with the times!!!!!!!!1bro.
u got balls though by admitting to your 2 year mistake.,.,.,
So now you have turned from apple troll to illiterate wanker. You could say it's a personality defect.
Why dont i want a Pre? Cuz Palm Keyboards Are Horrible and i hate their Gellish Feel. Number 2, it feels as if i can push 2 letters at once because theres basically no spacing of the keys on Centro and Treo Pro Models. Third, I was with the Times in Q4 of 2007 there werent too many touch screen Phones out Non-IPhone because i wasnt interested in getting raped by At&t and their Ridiculous I-Phone *Special Plan*
When those of you actually own a Touchscreen phone long enuff youll learn that the sensors in touchscreens die out after awhile and once that happens YOUR FUCKED because you cannot operate the phone since theres NO BUTTONS.
I had Sprint Replace my Touch In January cause of this but i wasnt gonna jump at a Touch Diamond cuz it was new. Im as informed as anyone else on here but im not gonna buy a new phone every year just cause. Im not one who jumped at a Storm To get Fed up with it and not even have it 6 months. I like Touchscreen phones, but i WONT buy a touchscreen only i wont make that dumb mistake again. My next phones either a blackberry or a Touch Pro 2..The G1 is ok but i dont like the Chin and im not leavin Sprint
wow you would be the first. I had near 10 customers convert from sprint because they are tired of them what made you stay very curious?
-t-mobile rep
Because T-Mobiles 3G isnt anywhere near Sprint or Verizons and its network is spotty, and im not interested in having to have a contract with them for 22 months just to get a plan similar to Sprints 99 plan which would only save me $10-15 otherwise. And itd still be missing the Nav, TV, etc. Before the G1 People went there for Mainly the Sidekick & MyFaves
But Seriously.......
No Carrier is Perfect. Theres gonna be unhappy people no matter wat carrier. What T-Mobile Lacks they make up for with Customer Service, Verizon Cripples Phones but their "Network" is good...At&T Accquired Most its Customers, Has The I-Phone and their Plans arent exactly best. Sprints Improved its Customer Service their plans are good, Network as Good as Verizons and phones are Decent. If you dont travel outside the U.S much if at all what do u need GSM for.
Why did they have to go with the 8830 style keyboard? The Curve's keyboard is so much better..
Actually, the 9630 keyboard resembles the Bold's keyboard more, and last I checked, the Bold's keyboard is arguably the best keyboard put on a BlackBerry. But I guess it's user preference, I hate the 83xx keyboard. 8900 got better but I find the 8830 and Bold's keyboard are the best.
I have a curve so I'm really used to it, and I hate using the 8830, it just feels harder to type on, the keys are just too flat. I haven't used a bold or an 8900 yet. I'm waiting for a nice blackberry to come to sprint!
Shouldn't it be "Via Crackberry" instead of "Via Boy Genius Report"?
just in case, it's pronounced "nye-a-grah"
I can't believe how sweaty fingers you people have! :|
EWWWY Looks like somebody has been hitting the $1 menu a little too often.
not bad
Hopefully this brings about Blackberry rates war.
Because its a toss up for me between the Bold, 8900, and the Niagara; sorry I don't want a Storm. Now my new Blackberry will solely be on the Plans offered.
$15/month difference will cover the price of the phone over the 2 years.
Did anyone else notice the lack of carrier branding? And I don't think that's carpet. It's probably a blanket.
Not directly related to the phones, but does anyone else find it weird when people leave the packing plastic on the shiny surfaces of an electronic device forever, even when that plastic gets all beat up and mangy looking? It's like when people have a couch encased in plastic or something.
not only is this a major fail!!!!!!!!!!!1but who in their right mind, besides a very uninformed consumer, would buy this over iphone 3g????iphone as low as 99$.,this p.o.s. $800?????
btw i think bb bold is a heck of a device..
lol what the fuck are you talking about?
Uhm, someone who wants to buy a phone before it's released and even publicly acknowledged?
You're comparing apple and orange... iphone's $99 price comes with a contract
you're a douche bag
Verizon plz. I want a physical keyboard none of this Storm Shittiness
Yea F sprint! theyre getting a Pre already.
Come over to the darkside that is Verizon plz.
My 8330 is so underpowered its not even funny.
Hey, I love my blackberry storm. The only thing that RIM could do to make me get something else is release that mythical bold style phone that has a touchscreen as well as a full qwerty keyboard, that would be pure sex.
looks like every other blackberry
the back is getting ugly
Bullshit! This is...
At first glance i wondered how is this not a Javelin.. and im still looking on it and wondering how is it "REALLY" different.
1) Javelins aren't CDMA
2) Not even Bolds are CDMA
This... is a CDMA device. Styles of a Javelin (sort of), keyboard of a Bold.
What's with Blackberrys printing 'space' on the Space bar? >_< Smartphone, my a**
I've used the Bold and Curve Keyboards. I'm with the Curve on this matter. The Bold was way pretentious a phone anyway to be followed up.
The 8900, on the other hand, is the real deal. A smart-looking smartphone with proper keys, I guess they are identical to the Curve keys. But still, i don't like the plastickiness of them at all.
And that sexy back of the 8900! What's with the ugliness of this thing's back? At least it isn't fake leather like the Bold :D.
But anyway, I'm more than happy with the E71. Once you've managed to get used to the keys, typing is effortless and like 40WPM with those rubberized keys. And the size of the phone is beyond RIM's wildest dreams, as of yet anyway. I mean, who can beat a 10mm QWERTY messenger of steel? :D
"What's with Blackberrys printing 'space' on the Space bar? >_< Smartphone, my a**"
ar... you answered your own question, it IS called a space bar :P
Printing |___| on that key doesn't cut it... "Why is there a container on my keyboard?"
or by putting real "space" (i.e. nothing) doesn't make much sense either... "What does that button do?"
Remember, alot of people there got a smartphone to make them LOOK smart.... but chances are they're using like 20% of its function. so those (stupid) imprint is still very important.
Somebody missed the rhetoric... lol, you shouldn't have made the effort to come up with an answer... and what an answer, too!
I'm NOT going to believe that someone who buys a smartphone doesn't know his/her way around a standard keyboard. Heck, typewriters don't have labelled spacebars.
"I'm NOT going to believe that someone who buys a smartphone doesn't know his/her way around a standard keyboard. Heck, typewriters don't have labelled spacebars."
Having worked at a national telco's PDA support department, i can tell you that it's there for a reason...
"I just brought a blackberry from store and i'd like to set up my email with it"
"sure i can help you... what's you current email address?"
"ar... i don't have one... aren't you going assign one for me?"
"(thinking BIS) sure, what do you want the first part to be? it'll be ending with @telco.blackberry.net"
"what do you mean at telco? i want it to be at my phone!!!"
"......"
(true personal experience)
Don't the marketing people know that you can no longer name a device anything that rhymes with "iagra"?
I wonder if you need to see a specialist if the battery lasts longer that 4 hours.
Blackberry on Leopard. Nice!
I see what you did there. ;)
I still want the Pre but I would consider this if Sprint brought it on over....and I tried out the phone in person, of course.
anyone know if its coming a la GSM?
can't wait to get my hands on one of these
Now I am a bit confused. The pics that I saw at crackberry showed the OS is going to be similar to the storm correct? I dont know if this is correct but this blackberry is non-touchscreen. How awesome would it be to have this phone with touchscreen. I have used my friends Storm and feel like the OS is sluggish. You cant beat visual voicemail on the verizon network though. I just came off of using a iphone on tmobile to using a Bold on verizon (what a transition, 3g is okay). My dream Blackberry would have a touchscreen(even that clicky thing is okay), normal blackberry keyboard, storm OS, faster ARM (or whatever chip they use), sd cardslot, easy bluetooth data teathering, wifi (did you know that the storm has to wi-fi WTF), GPS and more Iphone type apps(pandora, shazam, and the like). Who is with me?
