Wouldn't it be cool if they developed a door lock that would accept an algorithm stored in one of these keys? that way you could access your house or office or both with just one key, that by the way would continue to serve as your usb storage solution? I think that would be genius.
i just got the itsakey and i love it. great transfer speeds and finally a good USB drive with a big enough hole for a key ring. i have had to suffer for a transcend drive cause sandisk and sony only had a hole small enough for a ring that would break after a month. it really i a great buy
Does anyone own the Iamakey. I would like to know how strong the contacts on the Iamakey are and whether they are likely to wear easily and make data unreadable. I really want one of these but might be going for the bigger uglier Itsakey as it does not have exposed contacts and a cap could not be bother to use.
Boet, I've been using the Iamakey for a few months now. Couldn't be arsed with using the cap after the first week, and most of the surface markings (the LaCie logo, for example) have worn off from rubbing against my other keys in my pocket. However, its given it a nice brushed metal effect now, and actually looks even cooler!
As for the connectors, they are a scratch-resistant gold alloy and show barely any wear whatsoever. The drive itself still works flawlessly, great transfer speeds, and so much better than lugging round a big usb stick (I used to use a SanDisk Cruzer contour simply because it looked so DAMN COOL but it was waayy too chunky for my keychain).
Best eight gigs I ever bought.
