Mouse Computer doles out dueling Core i7-powered desktops
It has seriously been a hot, hot minute since we've seen a compelling new desktop from the doors of Mouse Computer, but lo and behold, we've finally found a pair worth glancing all the way to Japan just to swoon over. The outfit's NextGear L720 and Masterpiece V1200 lines arrive with all manners of Core i7 CPUs within, each boasting between 3GB and 12GB of DDR3 RAM, SATA hard drives and NVIDIA GeForce graphics. Prospective buyers can also load one up with a Blu-ray drive should they choose, but you can plan on laying down ¥110,000 ($1,121) at the very least to get your palms around one.

Give me a i7 CPU, 9800GTX+ 1GB, a 1TB SATA HDD, AND 12gigs of DDR3 for $1,121 and then I'll consider it compelling or not.
Building it myself would go over the $1100 mark and I tried all other PC vendors including the
horrid Cyberpower/ibuypower companies and can't find SHIT. Even though DDR3 is relatively new, when the HELL are prices gonna go down? I though with all this recession crap , I'd finally be able to take the plunge for an i7/DDR3 PC, but guess I'll have to probably wait 'till summertime right?
Do you guys know of any motherboards that will except the cheaper Phenom II X4 along with space for more than 12gigs of DDR3 memory? What's that motherboard that Dell is using for their i7 studio desktop? lemme know
LAKERS in '09 baby.
why not cut costs and get a phenom II....
*whistles nonchalant-ly*
dude if your even mildly concerned with not spending too much money DO NO BUY AN i7 you will do nothing with it. Like your considering the Phenom II is such a good option in comparison and will do more than enough for you. oh and 9800GTX+ or 4850? trust me the 4850 is better and slightly cheaper at the same time But sorry cannot help you with your Question.
I still like mine better. :p
Sexy
$1121? That's it? I'll take one!
Same here, i spent this amount on a computer that doesn't even come close to the specs of this bad boy (i'm thinking about throwing in same day shipping too.). f**k underpowered, overpriced macbooks.
Wait, you're complaining a MacBook's performance is low compared to a desktop that is at least 10 times the size?
You bought the wrong thing if you were looking for gaming performance in a MacBook.
Laptops usually aren't for gaming in the first place, and a 13" consumer laptop is definitely not for gaming. Even when you do find a "gaming" laptop, you can get a small form factor case from Shuttle and a 20 or 24" monitor that's still very portable and has a lot more power for less.
The only real reason I can see for having a "gaming" laptop is having to do serious gaming while traveling, which is pretty lame.
@ben:
LAN parties.

LAN parties.
Uh, a majority of people that go to LAN parties bring a tower, monitor, and a real keyboard because they don't want to be handicapped by playing on a laptop.
macs arent used for gaming at all period!
theres no ifs and buts about that.... so much power... but cant be harnessed on video games properly! T_T
@ wat up
You do realize that there's this thing called "Bootcamp" which lets you run Windows natively on your Mac. Gasp!
I play COD4, COD:WAW, Fallout 3, UT3, Assasin's Creed and a whole lot more on my MBP. I even run Crysis at Medium w/ 30-40 FPS.
how does engadget spanish break these stories from japan first?
I've had that case since '05. A bit dated, yeah?
a mac pro user could say the same thing.
And he would be right...in '00
me too, packard bell ipower, right?
still looks good
Still one of the best cases out there, for cooling with zero case noise. Gigabyte 3d Aurora 1st gen... Not sure if they even offer teh 2nd gen anymore with the revised front.
Triple channel is nice, but why do all DDR3 modules have the specs of overclocked DDR2?
Wait untill you overclock 'em.
Then they'll approach DDR-4!
It's crazy ain't it?
that's an nVidia wallpaper in there right?
With a name like Mouse Computer, I expect the entire computer to be in the mouse.
:o
Come on Engadget, work a little more on the spelling!
Mouse or Mousse?
And please streamline the spelling, You've doubled your "l" in "compelling", why is the "l" in "dueling" not doubled? It's a simple rule in English :)
Because dueling is the act of two things fighting against each other, and duelling is commonly used with respects to objects used to duel. And as far as I know, the PC isn't a gun. There are no simple rules in English. In much the same way that things are hung but people are hanged.
looks so yummy. but the math is seriously wrong! ¥110,000 =$16,105 ain't so cheap.
WOA!!! thought so, computer so beastly couldnt b just 1000.... the aspects changed!!
http://www.google.com/search?q=110000+yen+in+dollars
110,000 Japanese yen = 1,122.11 U.S. dollars
Hmm.
Does the G5 come with it?

they got to put this thing up as a recession antidote, I can't afford to upgrade my gaming PC to keep up with the newest games.
The Mouse that roared?
Overpriced
