Castrade intros CV-MP02 pocket projector

Castrade, previously known for the CV-MP01 pico (you remember: the one that famously fits inside a wine glass) has just announced the CV-MP02, a larger but still decently small pocket projector. This little guy looks a lot like 3M's MPro 110, but the VGA (640 x 480) projector boasts 10 ANSI lumens, uses an LCoS display, and the use of LCD lamps should reduce heat and sound coming off the projector. It's got two ports (composite and VGA), and uses a lithium-ion battery for about an hour of running time before needing a charge. It's a Japan only release, and will cost ¥35,000 (around $400).

Pico Projectors: The latest digital picture frames?
Please no.
Did you know?;
If everyone in the world turned off their LCD frame for 1 day and used normal pictures we could save enough electricity to light up times square? ...........for like 2 minutes...
another useless unproven fact that wasted 5 seconds of your time brought to you by your friendly neighborhood iGoon!
Go away.
I was referencing the oh so climatic market of these. And Netbooks.
hmm, I wonder if someone will make a netbook with a tiny projector inside. haha j/k
the only difference is people are buying digital picture frames
I want a win glass...
As opposed to a fail glass
How about a "LOSER" Glass?
Either way I dont need one but I still kind of want one.
I'm not putting anything by a company called Castrade in my pocket.
@NHAnimator
Thankfully, I'm not the only one who noticed that the brand name is a little too close to "Castrate"...
I know I dont need one but i kind of want one.
I want an LCD lamp, you've got to put it in front of a window and it will block or permit light to come in! :-)
Im glad someone else caught that.
Am I the only one that thinks Castrade is too close to castrate?
I can't believe it took 8 posts to get there.
Yea me neither
Stop being juvenile, it's a well known, highly respected company with a near cult following, who affectionately call themselves Castrati... in odd contralto voices.
To be honest I've never heard of em...I'm not saying they're not well known or highly respected but I've never heard anyone talk about Castrade before
There's nothing strange about the name "Castrade". Obviously "Cutyourballsov" was already taken.
Does it really only put out 10 lumens, or is that an error? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think 10 lumens is anywhere close to enough to produce a visible picture, even in a darkened room.
This is cool.
I would by one to use with my netbook.

I'd buy one to advertise my shitty site in places people don't want to see it.
If anything needs a mini methanol fuel cell, its these projectors. They can play a movie for up to what, 3 hours? With 10 lumens? It needs a fuel cell to allow for greater power output to increase the lumens.
LCD lamps?
Yep
Ok, here's a thought... how is it a tiny Surefire LED light can put out 120 lumens and these can only manage 10? Even their non-LED lights are bright enough to be blinding when they're reflected off of something, and they're half the brightness of the LED ones!
