Motorola QA4 touchscreen slider clears the FCC

Motorola hasn't exactly been doing that great a job keeping this one secret, but it looks like its QA4 handset is doing its best to make itself known, and it has now made its latest, still-not-official showing courtesy of the FCC. As you can see above, the phone looks quite a bit different than those earlier unofficial photos, but the actual specs remain largely unchanged, with it boasting what appears to be the same 2.8-inch touchscreen, along with a tri-band CDMA / EVDO radio, aGPS, Bluetooth 2.0, a camera (we're assuming the same 2-megapixels), and a microSD card slot for expansion. Somewhat interestingly, there's no indication of that rumored accelerometer in the user manual, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's not still tucked in there somewhere. Hopefully Motorola will clear that, and a whole lot more, up when it finally gets official with the handset, which we're guessing should be happening sooner rather than later.

Wait... that's not the pre. I got so excited at first glance.
Its Pre's bastard brother! :O
look like Palm Pre
^^Except it is missing one of the pre's most important features, a full QWERTY Keyboard.^^
Is it me or does this phone definitely not scream "Hello MOTO "?
To me it seems to be screaming something closer to "china-phone pre-clone"! (hey that rhymes, in a non LeeAnn kind of way)
Its always funny reading different blog's takes on things.
Everyone else has been saying that the phone that hit the FCC was probably an early protoype and not the final production phone that you see in the pictures.
Ugly, much?
Checkout the exposed slider, I guess they were going for the rugged look.
Another mediocre Motorola phone. Hooray!
Well said!
You're being way too kind.
This is just abysmal. Another dumb "slider" phone, nice and fat with no real benefit.
Why is Motorola wasting resources troweling out this crap, instead of jumpstarting its Android effort? Other vendors are dragging extensive ass on rolling out Android devices, leaving the door wide open for Motorola to wade in and just take over the market with some quick deployment of good designs. They're squandering what's likely to be their last opportunity to salvage themselves.
We have here another feature rich phone that will clearly fail to be iphonekiller!! Seem to be a trend.
Thats no iPhone killer, but the Pre is the anti-iPhone.
Tri-band CDMA radio? Is that 900/800/1900?
Looks like a decent touch screen phone to me. I don't mind the number pad because I don't sms that much, nore do I need a data plan. Looks like a nice upgrade from my previous motoZ9.
I haven't seen such ugly keypad before. Obviously it needs to be changed before its release...
FAIL
isn't Tri- Band also know as AWS? yes. I think I know who might get this phone. It starts with a C and a M and both offer unlimited calling for 40 bucks?
Just how is Motorola still alive?
Engadget is wrong again. Page 25 of users manual under texting says to turn phone sideways to use the qwerty keyboard. There is an accelerometer.
Motorola is still alive because they have phones with the best reception, period.
Samsung and LG can take their crappy reception phone and stuff them!!
I see a lack of hardware send/end keys, supersized FAIL
