BlackBerry "Niagara" 9630 given yet another pre-release shakedown
Man, RIM's just full of leaks when it comes to the purported next CDMA BlackBerry, and as long as they're not memory leaks, we don't think we'll be complaining. CrackBerry has somehow managed to secure yet another pre-release device, and this time it's none other than the CDMA Bold / Curve 8900 / Storm hybrid. Like we saw with the latest Mr. Blurrycam video review (and all those other leaked pics) the keyboard sure looks to be a real winner and to quote CB, it's "the optimal solution." The form factor is also described as "awesome" and its narrower size made it even nicer to hold than the Bold. Unfortunately, this particular device was running -- or trying to run -- OS 4.7.1.10, which is basically a dummy phone equivalent at this point, while .17 is purportedly available somewhere in the Great White North. We've heard that the hardware has indeed been finalized, and that RIM is mass producing these like crazy -- and if they can get the software to match what we've seen of the hardware, it looks like they're going to have another winner on their hands.

Well i look forward to Sprint having this By Q3 (August i hope) Fulled Loaded like they always do. So ill have this and the Rhodium to Choose from But i Dunno bout verizons stripped down one...who knows when theyre droppin it..
Are people at Research in Motion on crack or are these phones on crack?
I just want to know why they need THREE form factors. If the Niagara does everything the Bold can do AND has a perfect keyboard, why isn't it replacing the Bold completely?
The "invisible hand" is slowly going to kill Blackberry, just like it did with Nextel.
After all, iPhone is getting 3.0.
You can't compete anymore RIM.
AND YOU AREN'T GETTING A BAILOUT.
Shutup, idiot.
I think the invisible hand owes you a bitchslap.
dear flashpoint,
eat shit and kill yourself.
-everybody.
Im not an Apple hater, but I hate you cause you won't get off Apple's cock and balls. Honestly I expect you to stop sometime but you just don't.
@helloUser
Shouldn't it be iDiot?
finally, some real news
What's that you say, this one already has copy paste, and runs multiple apps?
Huzzah!
well, i dont really care who gets it first, im stuck with verizon on the family plan and if verizon gets it this is what ill get for sure
Pass.
This is the one series of Blackberry that seems a little pointless...the curve 8900 was great except no 3G. The Bold has it all (I think? Not sure about GPS) but it's huge and cheaply made. This one just seems like a waste of time, right in between the 2...
But as cake97 said, they can run multiple apps and have copy paste haha.
Yeah, pointless...if this was for or if you're w/ a GSM carrier which this phone isn't for. Was going to get the CDMA Curve but with 9630 being already produced/manufactured, this would definitely be the phone to replace my 8830. The keyboard, being perfect is probably the biggest factor. I can't wait!
WTH is up with ATT. I have been holding out on signing a new contract for awhile, for them to release something decent. ATT has gotten EXTREMELY slack on new devices every since they started hocking iphones. HTC Fuze is...ok...but come on with the new stuff already geez! Weren't there some new nokia devices n a list somewhere?
Just getting fatter and fatter by the inch....
That's what she said...?
its between this and switching to ATT for the iphone 3rd gen. Only thing is the ATT plan would cost me more without my verizon corporte discount on my sisters fam. plan and the fact i can pay my sis whenever i want
she lets me pay her whenever I want too.
I really prefer the style of the 8900. I really hope this doesn't come out in lieu of a Verizon version cause then I may have to rethink my next phone. I am betting more likely will be in lieu of the bold as the replacement for the 8830
you keep on saying that word... I do not think it means what you think it means.
I swear, the first time I look at the title I did a double take. Thought it said BlackBerry "Nigra"... I'm a horrible human being.
It's definitely a nice looking phone. From the front it looks like a smaller Bold, and from the side it looks like the 8900 Curve. And with all of the pictures that have been surfacing I would say it shouldn't be too long before it's in stores. Any sure dates yet? can't even it on http://www.Niagara-BlackBerry.com I hope it will come out sooner or later.
