Screen Grabs: Nelly Yuki sees Yale acceptance email on BlackBerry Storm
Screen Grabs chronicles the uses (and misuses) of real-world gadgets in today's movies and TV. Send in your sightings (with screen grab!) to screengrabs at engadget dt com.

We had a feeling that cast-wide Verizon contract on Gossip Girl would eventually lead to at least one BlackBerry Storm showing up, and sure enough, it's Nelly Yuki proving our assumptions correct. Ms. Yuki made good use of her touchscreen 'Berry too, showing off her Yale acceptance email to her closest pals and one fuming Blair Waldorf. Meanwhile, all the other rich girls get stuck with Verizon's free-on-contract lineup -- what's up with that?

Ok, how much money is the Gossip Girl people paying Gawker?
Pssst, wrong blog network.
Interesting that she's got the photo manipulation icons at the bottom of her email there...sheesh, I mean the props department couldn't have tried to set up a fake email account for Ms. Yuki? For shame.
Haha, that was the first thing I noticed too. I had to open an email on mine just to make sure though.
lolol owned
PLEASE LABEL YOUR SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!
this made headlines here? and thats the last show i'd ever want to watch...
Hah. It isn't even an email. It's an image of an email.
Would have been newsworthy if it was the jesus phone.
Um, no, since the iPhone came out 2 years ago and is all over the place.
Engadget is losing it. No tech talks here.
Well, you should see what's up with Gizmodo.
So ur with ur honey and yur making out wen the phone rigns. U anser it n the vioce is "wut r u doing wit my daughter?" U tell ur girl n she say "my dad is ded". THEN WHO WAS PHONE?
Wtf bobs? I just cracked up from how random that was.
from the description up top:
"Screen Grabs chronicles the uses (and misuses) of real-world gadgets in today's movies and TV. Send in your sightings (with screen grab!) to screengrabs at engadget dt com."
it's all just for fun...
March Fools, right? This isn't a real post?
Blair is soooo hot...*drooling*....
Blair FTW! and yes, I'll admit it... I read the entire series...
Serena van der Woodsen is way hotter. She's got that classy elegant look about her. Blair is more prom dress while Serena is more Oscar red carpet.
@TomTom2007
I see what you mean. Is this a trend between gadget sites to talk about non gadget related topics?
Guess when Apple has nothing new this is what happens.
Wow, my Gossip Girl appearing on Engadget? And I was just thinking my RSS feeds were mislabeled XD
That was actually my first thought upon watching that episode, but really... who would ever want the storm. Maybe the richest ones are just smarter.
And, since when does a University send acceptance emails?
I thought it's all done by letters. Also, as someone said above, obvious photo manipulation tools is obvious. >_>
I'm glad you figured out what EVERYONE else observed and posted, and Re-Posted it. :P
Some send both. I got mine in through an e-mail and a letter.
zomg totally spoiled the episode i didn't watch thnx engadget
You forgot to append "xoxo". You're out of the club now. Hand over your card.
No hugz and kizzez for you!
who cares? sounds like someone is trying to make their post quota.
What is the lower-left icon? Is that for multiple windows?! I don't have that on my *.75 firmware...
I'd guess it's going back to the list of all pictures
Ah yes, this is definitely a picture file and that is the thumbnails logo.
I clearly need a change of clothes to keep up with the wired youth of today.
That's cool - if you're into the whole Yale thing.
Gossip Girl... and Yale? That's realistic...
They did something similar on an episode of Chuck. he picked up the iPhone and answered it by swiping in the photo gallery and the picture was of an incoming call.
It was funny to read the name Nelly Yuki in Engadget's Tweet. It confused me a little bit.
Notice how the recipient has the phone number of the dean at Yale cos they all give private phone numbers when you apply to join a uni
/sarcasm
wtf are these b*tches wearing?
For those of you commenting on the clothes...they were in a play. Jeeze.
It must suck for her, everyone already knows that the world ends in 2012.
Aren't you an optimistic one.
The fact that this proves someone from Engadget watched Gossip Girl scares me.
I love this series, and impo I love Blair, If if see her at the street, I will ask her to marry me :)
I know this is not tech talk, but it is already here, so I wanted to post my vote to B
xoxo (I am already cracking to those of you that do know what i just said.)
I Love Gossip Girl
At my school everyone kept on refreshing their inbox on their phones to see if they got into UF on acceptance day (WOAH get with the times you get your acceptance in an email got to save trees)
