We've already seen some blurred image of the Wacom
Intuos4's
box and in-store display, and now we've got some much cleaner shots and hands-on impressions from
ThatPoshGirls, which seems to have come back from a years-long hiatus just to cover this tablet. The new pen base is well-received, as are the LED screens that remind what each button is programmed to do. Overall, it's what you've come to expect from the Intuos series, along with improved Windows Vista compatibility. It's worth noting that the Amazon price was spotted when a product review was submitted and was quoted at $350 for the 6 x 9 inch medium, a little less than the $480 Canadian price from Future Shop
we saw yesterday. Hit up the read link below for more pics of the tablet, its pen, and most importantly, cleaner shots of the box. Of course, we're still waiting on Wacom to even acknowledge its existence, but we'd expect that announcement to be just around the corner at this point.

pretty cool having the buttons on one side
sucks to be left handed
design is ok
in for cintiq redesign
Apparently Wacom did take into account lefties, as according to early reviews the tablet is designed to be flipped 180 degrees.
Yes the driver is actually supporting lefthandedness according to the first review.
wacom europe will announce the intuos4 tomorrow.

For that kind price, they should add touch screen. Are they waiting for some kind bill out?
have you ever used a wacom tablet?
The pressure sensitivity is MUCH higher than a standard touch screen.
They DO make touch screens, but they are in the $1 000+ range, because they are much more responsive and accurate than any old touch-sensitive device.
No, the design is ambidextrous, so just flip it over...it is exactly symmetrical.
sorry, its late
but then 'wacom' is upside down
like Im gonna pay for that!
If someone had posted a picture of this rotated for a lefty, it would have been up for a KIRF article as an obvious ripoff from WOCAM.
Actually the Wacom logo is on the top and the bottom, so on the button it is upright no matter the orientation and on the top it is always upsidedown.
Very nice indeed. I wish the resolution had been improve a bit. I love to work in "mouse" mode with mine and on my big 30inch monitor, the cursor move in a bloquy fashion.
Still I like my Intuos 3 and I dont think I will spend 350$ on that. If it were 250$ I would seriously think about it.
If Wacom (or logitech) would be nice enough to release just a 8 buttons shortcuts LED pad for a good price, it would sell like hot cakes.
When will the internet get back to as it was decade ago???!!!
NewsReaser reading wat i want and not look at or get distracted by lot of sheeeet, images, animation etc. i want to read the news read the news by looking at the text not at colors, , picture, movies, adverts!!!!!! i want the internet to get back as plain text or ritch text may be and links to images or movies for if ever i want to look at!!!!
Too much burden on a page to read, on a point of interest. finally better not even get online!!!
I wish this will be the future of the internet much more user friendly instead of the actual stupidity all these web developer and designers are throwing at us
newsreader
Lynx??
i have the assumtion that this "poshgirl-site" was set up just for the intuous4-promotion. fcking viral marketing.
LOL. My site is not part of a viral marketing scheme. I just got really excited when Amazon sent me the Intuos. I love getting geek gear. (They also sent me some chocolate, yay.)
ThatPoshgirl is not a shill for Wacom. If you look at the bottom of her blog, you can see exactly where she got this tablet. If you google Amazon Vine, you will answer your own question about the program. Also, go to the Amazon webpage and you'll see that she among others have reviewed this product, and they all belong to the Vine program.
But, I know, nothing anyone can ever post, once they've been accused of being a shill, will ever change the accuser's mind.
no.. still.. i am sceptical. she said " .. but a recent event has brought me back to the blog." back to which posts exactly? the archives show just march 2009...
well, sorry to the lady if she still exists and is not any marketing-drone. may the others believe and follow. i don't believe it.
Yes the entire site is posts about the tablet, its impending arrival, first shots, etc.
Could be coincidence but we want proof or our cynical internet-trained minds will stick to what we assume.
If you go to Amazon and search for ThatPoshGirl under people you will see that my reviews go back to 2001. I deleted my website over a year ago because I was tired of chasing spammers. But getting a first look at a p0opular product inspired me to start it back up.
On Wacom's site there's a little video that plays, and at the end of it it shows the date: 25/03/09. So I guess it's safe to assume tomorrow is when Wacom will officially unveil it.
Pricing for the Intuos4:
Small $219.99
Medium $349.99
Large $469.99
X-Large: $789.99
I hope it fixes most of everything listed here: http://mark2000.com/?p=440
Intuos 3 had a lot of half baked stuff in it. I hope the new one is more polished.
yeah
sweet
Need more buttons to store/assign actions and keyboard strokes
I and most pros I've seen using Intuos3s usually work with one hand on the keyboard and the other sketching away.
This one at least moves all 8 buttons to the same side so i may actually use all of them, and the ability to tag the buttons (without the use of my handy custom made stickers) is pretty awesome...
Plus if I read correctly on the back of the box, the pressure sensitivity is doubled. 2048 in stead of the current Intos3/Cintiq's 1024.
Can't wait.
Speaking of the enhanced pressure levels and Cintiqs, I hope a new line of Cintiqs rolls out with these Intuos4s at the same $999 starting price.
I'd love to move up to the Cintiq but I've developed enough hand-screen coordination that I'm not so sure I'd be willing to go for the ability to draw directly on the screen over the level precision.
Here's the press release, but seems the pricing is a little different.

Ok, Wacom Europe has started selling Intuos4s...the price is much higher though, if you factor in the conversion factor between Euro and USD...
...and I don't live in Europe....
Waiting for Amazon....

Intuos4 4x6 is the only one that doesn't have the cool OLED indicators...
Why does the 4x6 always get f***ed over? The previous 4x6 doesn't have expresskey on the right side (forcing left-handed to purchase bigger models), and the Intuos4 4x6 only hosts 6 ExpressKeys as opposed to 8 on every other model, not to mention the lack of OLED indicator...
Dammit wacom!
PS. don't tell me it is due to size limitations...Intuos4 Small clearly has enough space for OLEDs based on the images....
