Rumors of Netflix content streaming to the PS3 date back to, well, the
first rumors of it hitting the Xbox 360. We all know which of those two platforms got some red envelope love last year, and now, soon after hearing the service may be
heading to the Wii, we have what seems to be similar confirmation that Netflix is at least still considering bringing their bitstream to the PS3. The screenshot above was captured by a reader, showing a message like that on the earlier Wii survey -- in fact it's exactly the same from what we can see. Given our proximity to that least newsy day of the year on April 1st we can't be sure this is entirely genuine, but it probably is time for Sony to
make a little room in its XMB for Netflix.

I have inside info from a Netflix person that this is TRUE... It is in the works. The ultimate goal is to completely do away with the mail services and go DL only... BELIEVE IT!

The disc seems redundant and counter-intuitive, but I would still be down.
So the mythical disc will be $9.99 instead of $3 a year ago? http://www.engadget.com/2008/02/11/netflix-coming-to-xbox-360-and-ps3/
Seems FAKE to me. A exact Clone of the Wii survey. Replace Wii with PS3. As for the Quality of movies steamed from Netflix. I don't need to see the BEST QUALITY possible for everything. I have many HD DVD's and Blu-Ray, watching on my 50" 1080P Plasma, and yet I'm perfectly happy to watch something on Netflix I don't own or plan to own. Maybe a Old John Wayne Movie, or a 80's TV Series like A-Team or Airwolf. I get my 1 Blu-Ray out at a time also which is good enough for me. To hear the PS3 Blu-Ray owners, they sound like a bunch of stuck up Sony/Blu-Ray or nothing fanboys.
It'd be nice if Sony could do this... I'd love to stream Netflix on my PS3.
I don't like the idea (mainly because it's unnecessary) of putting in a disc every time you wanna watch something. You don't have to do this on the 360. All this says to me is that they want to make people think that they are paying the fee for a reason other than a corporate money grab.
