Was at a bar with a pal. Twittered it. 5 minutes later I get a twit back, a pack of other friends are at a bar 2 blocks over having $2 pitchers of beer. We went right over and had a great time. Without twitter I'd have no clue those group of friends were down the street.
Other than that, it's been pretty lame. So it can serve good purpose.
