Engadget Podcast 139 - 03.27.2009

Here it comes, another action-packed hour of heartfelt learning and sharing, with your close personal friends Joshua, Nilay and Paul. It's a real variety pack this week, with the market-shifting OnLive and Digital Rebel T1i stealing the show, but plenty of supporting characters (and obligatory Netflix love) keeping things grounded. Frankly, it's a chewy nougat of podcast goodness that's not to be missed for any reason, barring personal emergency or having something else to do today.
Hosts: Joshua Topolsky, Nilay Patel, Paul Miller
Producer: Trent Wolbe
Song: Barracuda

segway.... you guys really need to stop
You mean segue?
d'oh!! good call Josh
No Apple talk? Surely that list of topics in the post above is wrong? I'm sure Apple is slipped in a couple times, I'll have to check it out.
What I want to hear more about is the Tesla cars and why they don't get billions from the government so that I could buy myself one of those.
sadness. no more misfits.
ohh i get who nerds the nerd men it all makes sense now
Well done guys, another excellent Engadget Podcast. I'm already looking forward toward the next one. I'll be sure to shoot some questions at the Engadget Twit-Bot this week.
I just ordered a laptop! woooooooo. nothing to say about this story really other than that onlive looks interesting
Thanks for answering my questions about the quietness of the Jasper Xbox. I really appreciate it!
blockbuster actually had a deal with enron back in 2001 to stream movies to users across the US:)
I'm not so sure that OnLive is as great as you make it sound in the podcast. It's a good concept, but it's going to quickly get mired in the same mess that digital downloads and streaming content are with Hollywood. Game publishers aren't that different of a beast from the studios.

I love the idea of OnLive. Being able to play any game from any platform is amazing and pushes more to having one centralized device.
But, I have a problem with not actually owning the software that I bought through OnLive's services. Like I own it, but I don't have the physical copy.
Nice podcast.
Just wanted to let you guys know that I have FiOS and it's AWESOME. In fact I'm downloading an 5GB HD movie from a legit source -- swear -- and it is going to take about 20 mins.
See despite what all you Yankees say, everything isn't better in NY.
