Samsung N310 netbook gets hands-on treatment
Don't be deceived -- Samsung's N310 looks an awful lot tougher, bulkier and manly than it really is. 'Course, it probably will handle gentle bumps a bit better than your average Wind / Eee / Mini xx machine, but it's really only the embossed Sammy logo that's built to withstand flying bullets. All kidding aside, we'll invite you to visit the read link if you're scouting a hands-on experience that just might change your life. Or at least the next 4 minutes of it.

Who do they think they are with their brand name that big... Toshiba?
That was my first thought exactly, as seeing Toshiba's huge logo on the back of a laptop always makes me throw up in my mouth a little... It's a laptop, not a freakin' billboard...
Well from the hands on it looks to be a nicely designed netbook but it has just one problem, i dont think the logo is big enough for my tastes.
Perhaps they could build a netbook INTO a Samsung logo.
Price??
£399 (or $577)
This is WAY too expensive for a netbook, especially with some of Acer's models being ~200 USD.
You do know that you can't compare US and UK prices directly like that. Almost always, the US price is significantly cheaper than the US converted price in the UK.
comparing samsung with acer?
that's like saying lexus is as good as an mercedes or a bmw
The design of the case actually is nice because it makes it feel like something you use and toss about rather than something you have to worry about breaking or getting scratched, which on the other hand leads to the question if it can handle the treatment it invites.
The laptop looks tough but might not be.
oh what kind of netbook is that ... It a SAMSUNG cant you read the 48 Font
I am getting it so I can do that!
Yes, it could be OK but I really did'nt get why it should cost so much more than an MSI wind or a Lenovo S10, or an Acer, or an Asus or all the rest of the netbooks.
Why is Samsung asking us to grace it with a big extra chunck of our money if the package they are gonna push is gonna be the standard netbook fare? (i.e. Atom N270 1,6 Ghz and 1GBddr2 expandable to 2GB + 160GB hd, wifi & BT?)
Methinks Google needs to continue working on their translation matrix!
Windows Live Translator is a fairly good alternative. I also like the way it translates web pages better, where it give you the option of viewing them side to side.

" S A M S U N G "
no thanks.. lol, could've been nice otherwise.
the only thing good about this design is that it made me laugh
=)
i wish that they would make a netbook that was flat black polycarbonite and with a great big embossed ono-sendai logo on the top
I'll just wait for the "SUMSANG" knock-off ... no one will notice the difference =P
heck i'm still waiting vii to come to the states
Wow, Samsung usually make beautiful things..... freaking fugly.
Looks a lot sturdier to me than any of the Asus or acer netbooks out there. Yes the SAMSUNG logo is big, but because it is the same color as the computer I can't imagine it being that noticeable. Other than the logo this looks a lot more stylish than most other boring netbooks out there. Sturdy and well designed like the hp models. A netbook is something I want to be able to drag around with me everywhere. And it's nice to have another model (other than the Asus 1000HE) with a chiclet keyboard for those who prefer them .
The images in this post were very blurry. This picture showcases the simple, elegant design.

Or you can stick to loving your cheap plastic, zero personality, fugly netbooks. With their faux silver (plastic!) trim that was in style with 90's elecronics from Radio Shack.
We will see the price when this is released.I am not willing to pay a premium for style. I am no fool.
Seems a bit strange that people are suddenly developing logo shyness, but only in this case, the rest of the time it's no problem or more often GREAT, and people actually buy socks and caps and shirts and bags with freaking large print logo's on them and walk around advertising, and don't get paid for that but actually pay for the privilege.
Not that I am a great supporter of (large) embossed logos, but it's strange this sudden outburst.
maybe you can make your own logo? it shouldn't be too hard. someone should look into that// a replacment would be nice.. if it said "hot snatch" or "pussy all day" or maybe "douchebag" or maybe "fuck apple" i mean the possibilities are absolutely endless.
