Solar-powered broadcast on WFMU New York Monday night may just change your life

If you're on the planet tomorrow night, you may just want to check out Engadget's own podcast producer, Trent Wolbe, on his WFMU radio show. Sure, Trent can be found assaulting the airwaves there every single Monday, but this coming one (March 30th), the show will be live from the Solar One facility on the East River in NYC, and the broadcast will be entirely solar-powered. Oh, there's going to be live performances by some great 8 bit / handheld, artists too. We love that. Hit up WFMU.ORG for all the details, or to listen to the show live tomorrow night, from 8-10 PM EST. Should be awesome, friends.

Is Bass N Cream going to be there?
Monday is the 30th, not the 31st. That honor goes to Tuesday.

Now we all feel much ,relieved.
The tension was unbearable.
Thanks for the wonderful news.
let's hope it doesn't rain.
Solar powered yet 8 at night. Seems more like battery powered.
Not interested. That flyer needs even less anti-aliasing for me to care.
Whats so special about battery powered radio. They have been around for years.
Okay then.
talking hippie stuff, where where you last night on earth hour and the black out??
I was with my three year old, trying to explain why we need to let our planet breath a little, and how we need to do this more often, maybe every month?
Lulz.
I turned my AC down lower, turned on every light and TV in the house, and left the car idling in the driveway.
That's not lulz.
Lulz is the cancer that is killing /b/
That poster makes no sence for people who don't know what the hell it is.
I'm trying to figure out where it doesn't make sense...I'm assuming it's handheld music? Maybe...?
Someone doesn't know what this is? http://8bitpeoples.com - Go listen!
Chiptunes!
I like it!
geeky
Must be battery powered but the batteries charged by the sun, so I assume. Also, is it 8pm Eastern STANDARD Time or is it really 8pm Eastern DAYLIGHT Time? Currently the Eastern Time Zone is in DST (Daylight Savings Time). Yeah, picky, picky, but I get so sick of people not even realizing that there IS a difference between EST and EDT.
I'm assuming it's LOCAL TIME.
So if you check their website, you might be able to figure it out. Eh? Eh?
??? You don't get it, do you? Local time has nothing to do with it. Daylight Saving's Time is different than Standard Time. Currently, in the Eastern Time Zone, we are observing Daylight Saving's Time. So, if I would actually listen when they say, I would look at my clock, which is set to DST for the ET zone, and I would listen at 7pm.
People seem to forget that there are two different manners of posting a time, ST for Standard Time and DT for Daylight Saving's Time. Also, not all parts of the world, and the USA, observe DST and not all that do switch to it and off of it a the same time/date.
Perhaps if people can't get their own time zone's LOCAL TIME correct they should use GMT/UTC (or Zulu if you prefer). Then there'd be no doubt in at least my mind what time they mean. Oh, I can ASSUME they mean 8pm EDT but you know what happens when you assume, don't you?
In the above comment, first paragraph, fat fingers hit 7 rather than 9 at the end of the last sentence. Nothing like screwing this time thing up even further, eh? :)
Easy to use table to figure out ROI of solar
