The rest of the mobile industry might be gearing up for
CTIA to start, but Apple's phone elves are toiling away --
iPhone OS 3.0 beta 2's just been released to developers, along with the go-ahead to start developing for push notifications. Thankfully, beta 2 also apparently includes a number of stability and performance enhancements, which will hopefully make our tester phone tolerable again -- we've been restarting beta 1 basically every day since we sacrificed it to the
hands-on gods. Devs and beta testers know what to do to snag the upgrade, let us know how it goes!
I have several spaces left if you want to try iphone 3.0 beta 2 send me e mail

Has anyone tried the beta in connection with UConnect yet? I would be interested in knowing if it provides the much needed fix to 2.2's connection issues.
sweet, i can't wait to upgrade to beta 2. beta 1 is pretty freaking buggy, laggy. reminds me of my winmo6 days. alright so forgive me for not being 'with it' but what's push notifications? i'm just looking forward to running a more stable os, but new features are cool too. i honestly haven't used the copy and paste, just not used to it being there, forgot how handy it's supposed to be.
Installed.... its a lot snappier... but why haven't they sorted out youtube yet.... still cant view youtube content...
weird... maybe they disabled during the beta's or something
For people having problems with youtube, it is caused by 'restoring backup' after upgrading to 3.0. If you set up as a new iphone after the update, youtube works fine.
Hope this helps.

Guys, any link for the 3.0 SDK beta 2?
WOOOO, this is brilient...COPY AND PASTEING...GO IPHONE ELVES
Alex, can u share ipsw for Itouch 1G if u have one please?
The headline is all about push notifications being active on the beta 2, so why another boring picture of copy and paste?
They've included copy and paste, we all know it, so stop whining about how long it took to implement.
Boring, boring journalism.
HURRRRRRR
Does anyone know if the A2DP stuff in 3.0 beta will work on existing A2DP Bluetooth headsets?
Appreciate if somone can email me an invite to the Beta
Was part of the 2.0 Beta, but the new requirements are not flying with the legal folks...
There isn't any invitation program for 3.0 Beta. If you sign up for a Personal Developer account ($99) at developer.apple.com, you can download the 3.0 Beta firmware.
Ok so i had the first beta and when i tryed connecting the phone to my car it just kept connecting and reconnecting. But with this new one it fixed that probelm, but now the music just wont even play through the radio!!! It shows on the radio it is playing, oh but now i am just getting an error 19 on my radio. Has anyone have any thing similar or know how to fix it? Or does any one know of a good forum i could go to and ask around?
What in car radio are you attaching to? I've got mine connected to the Alpine iDA-X001 and it now works perfectly under beta 2. Did not work at all under beta 1. I've had the error-19 code before, to resolve I disconnected the iphone, hard reset it and plugged back in. Seemed to sort out the problem.
Hope this helps

Thanx to ffjones54 for getting me going on Beta 2. I appreciate the support KUDOS to you buddy.....
I'm using Beta 2 and its pretty good. It runs pretty fluid, barely hangs up. There are small glitches that you can tolerate till the summer, for example when a call comes in the ipod stops but it doesnt resume after the call. As far as MMS, here is what you have to do: Call AT&T and tell them you're a developer (I am but they never verified) and you're testing 3.0 and ask them to remove the "iphone text" package and give you the regular text package that they put on their other units. Make sure when they do so that they enable the MMS and you're good to go!!!
PS. I need help with categories though, once I install it and setup my folders my phone hangs and I get frozen at the boot logo
I imagine the real version will have tons of bugs in it as well, just like 2.0 did when it came out. It'll take apple likely until 3.1 to get things running smoothly just like before.
I was in a hurry to get iphone 3.0 and bricked my iphone 2 days ago and was stuck until i found the website that i linked to my name above actually found them in facebook, just click on my name to go there. They had me up and running in no time and i now have complete access to their Apple developers account with my own user ID and password. It was worth it, just my 2 cents for anyone who is in the same boat i was.
