Moixa Sphere multitouch orb bends minds, credulity
Ordinarily we'd take one look at Moixa's Sphere interactive display ball around this time of year and immediately dismiss it as an April Fools joke, but something tells us not even the most dedicated would-be pranksters take the time and expense to patent their little diversions. That said, we're definitely not so sure this thing will make its planned 2010 ship date, since it's just a render right now, but if it does, we'll be first in line -- a folding multitouch display with an always-on net connection and gyroscopic interface elements that can also be used folded flat sounds pretty amazing to us. We want to believe.

i love balls
that was gay.
I was referring to the spherical shape, can't you tell?
seeing as you have a mac as your avatar.. I am not surprised...
I have windows and linux too by the way. Not to start up any OS wars. But just my thought: Why have only Mac, and why have only Windows, when you can get both and get the benefits all have to offer?
And I really need to change my avatar.
More like this, amirite (Should be an avatar of my two guinea pigs)?
Now (Waiting for pic update...)?
I came in after the pic update... I was like... that's a Mac avatar?
yea im a mac user too..but your still gay
It's OK to be gay.

Cool way to brows Google Earth.
Until you zoom in...
I don't understand what the point of using it to browse Google Earth in that form would be. If you zoomed in the design would completely fail in that functionality. I smell a hoax.
Good to see that someone else noticed this......
honestly, this is only good as a concept, nothing more.
The zoom feature could expand the zoomed selection into a box or window while maintaining the globe on the rest of the device. Or, more in accordance with the presented drawings, it could use one of the six sides of the internal display-cube as the zoomed portion.
Microsoft Sphere... Nano?
My first thought was April Fools, but the moxia.com domain name has been registered since the end of April 2000...seems like a long time coming.
I don't know why... but I think I want one...
me tooo
"Sphere is under development for release [...] in 2010 and is linked to the commercial availability of flexible screen materials."
It sounds like someone needs to invent the screen that this thing will use first. They invented the specific way it folds and what it 'can' do, but the actual screen material still needs to be sourced from some other company that will invent and sell an appropriate flexible screen in 2010.
I have a feeling this is a April Fools joke.
And... since it's multitouch, how the hell do you use it if the whole thing is a screen?
Detects fingers maybe?
It's only a concept anyway.
It's a Remembrall.
Cool! it almost looks like a PDA inside a rubix puzzle!
When can I get one?!
