So...who was the one over at Engadget that was watching the show and caught this? :P
When I saw it I the show, I just thought "PRODUCT PLACEMENT".
It interrupted the story a lot more than a text, which really just goes to show it would be better to use a damn cellphone.
*saw it on the show
If you think THIS is product placement, don't dare watch the Season 2 Christmas episode of The Office (the American series.)
To be fair, The Office didn't receive any compensation from using an iPod as a part of a storyline in Christmas Party.... the show is based in the real world, with real people, most of whom have iPods
Uh so not that I was watching or anything but they also gave a big mention to Hulu.
I noticed that as well. At least they are finding ways to make money that give a bit of a laugh. Maybe in the future they could pay for shows with the product placement, and not have the bloody ad breaks?
yeah that was sooo unsubtle
Probably some kind of reasoning behind iit (is GG on Hulu?) but within reasonable context. Not being from America I can't watch Hulu but I hear people talk about watching things on "iPlayer" all the time (as opposed to a more vague "on the internet"). Why would it be any different.
I played with one in a VZW store and wasnt impressed. The cordless phone feels like junk!
I sent the tip in, yeah I watch the show and yes I am a dude.
We need to geek out together to Gossip Girl :D
not surprising since verizon has been a main sponsor of the show since the beginning
engadget dt com eh?
anyone that's male and would actually notice this because they watched the show: you're touched dude. go buy some more pink underwear.
Gallivanting.
Never mind, just looked it up and saw that listed as an alternate spelling.
Bought the Hub last Friday. Returned it today. Got another one. Spent over an hour with a very nice Verizon Hub rep in New Mexico trying to get the screen to unfreeze and finish uploading. Couldn't do it. He suggested taking it back or wait 3-5 days for their people to research the problem. Taking 2nd Hub back tomorrow and getting $$ back. They released this thing way too early. On both Hubs, the phone didn't work. Word to the wise...don't buy this until ALL the updates are in and working. Promises are made at the store that updates happen all the time and some will be coming later, much later. What are we supposed to do until Verizon gets it right?
