Remote control your rolly with Rolly Remote, now in the US
Japanese owners of Sony's little rolling music... thing have been able to remote control their Rollys via Bluetooth since late last year, and now folks elsewhere in the world are getting a shot with the release of Rolly Remote for US owners. The software and firmware update let you connect to Rolly wirelessly from a PC (it doesn't look like we get mobile phone connectivity yet), enabling control over the thing's playlist and movements. You can jack into seven of the little wheelie monsters at a time, meaning all you would-be choreographers out there finally have a way to express those emotions welling up inside without having to hire a bunch of dancers. (Vivaldi's Greatest Hits collection not included.)

world's most expensive mp3 playing remote control toy.
please reply with a more expensive toy that is actually worth it.
Looks like a football. I wonder if it can be used as one?
like a nerf ball..."the faster your throw it the louder the music"
This little slice of fail is still around? *sigh* Doesn't Sony lose enough money on the PS3?
Disco Kirby?
this has got to be the worst sony product of all time...what exactly is the purpose of it???
Sony gets a pat on the back for not only inventing the most useless consumer electronics product in the last 5 years, but now for the most useless accessory.
reminds me of the aibo and the qrio, both of which were atleast a gazillion times better than this.
they were a lot more likeable inspite of the fact that too were very very expensive.
guess im the only one who absolutly effing loves this thing! if it were $200 id buy it in a heartbeat
and to answer your question no im not gay
Your "answer" simply raises more questions.
agreed. i normally don't end comments on gadget sites with a blanket statement on my sexuality. especially on a product as completely patently non-sexual as a Sony Rolly.
that is certainly the type of thing a person who was really trying to convince *himself* might say.
lol... funny
i saw this thing in the sony store the other day. I don't get it. And for the price.....I really don't get the point. You can buy so many useful sony products with that money.
@NineT9- i agree with you i saw one of these things rolling around a couple weeks ago and thought it was cool as hell. To expensive though
Did enough people really buy the Rolly for Sony to justify bring a remote for it to the US?
Yes, all Sony employees were obligated to buy and therefore it makes sales look like they did good now they are trying to jack the price and shove it down the rest of us.
I have a Rolly and I absolutely LOVE the thing. I suppose if you have no sense of humor, novelty, or money you have vague reason to dismiss it.... but let me tell you, there's nothing like getting high and spending 3 hours programming 30 seconds of arm flapping hilarity. And everyone loves a Rolly at a party.
Yay 2.0!
I really fail to understand the appeal of this. If it was < $50 maybe, but 200 for a rolling, flopping MP3 player? I guess being stoned/drunk/japanese would help?
Finally! The three purchasers of this thing can now use it with a remote.
Oh Good Lord Why?
i know alot of people don't like the whole idea and think it's stupid, but if your able to go to your local sony store, go soon and see if you can pick one up, I just went yesterday in Austin, TX and picked up one brand new for $60, they are clearancing them out for $99 brand new and if you can get a display model they'll give you 40% off, which is what I did, and I got the 2 year accidental warranty for $20 so it was def a steal, so yes I understand those who say it's dumb, and those who say it's the coolest thing ever, but as for my opinion, it's pretty addicting and I haven't showed it to one person who hasn't fallen in love with it in person, so def see if you can go get you a deal on one, but you won't find the deal like that anywhere online!! good luck
