Teenage Engineering's OP-1 pocket synth caught on video

The OP-1 is for real... and we've got the proof. It's an ambitious little project, to be sure -- a battery powered pocket synth / sampler / DAW controller / drum sequencer -- and one we're looking forward to getting our hands on when it finally becomes available. According to the heads behind Teenage Engineering, that day should come within 10-12 months. But don't take our word for it -- check out the video after the break.

DO WANT
Along with the Korg Nano stuff.
Hopefully this will come in at a similar price point, but I'm thinking it'll be more expensive.
virtual virtual virtual?
Nixie Tubes.
Somehow the first thing that crossed my mind when looking at that video still.
No really, tell us more about it, we have no interest in hearing it at all or seeing how it works :o
10 -12 months release, the one under plexy is a proto that probably doesn't do much but look pretty. Me thinks Teenage is looking for investors for its new toy. I'll be sure to check back next year for a working machine.
future vaporware, ftw!
Oh yes, bring that thing the hell on.

Just listened to this song today. Kraftwerk rocks.
Props to you sir, that song brings back so many memories!
Wow, love those sounds!
I would be nice if we could hear the thing.
If this thing isn't vaporware I want one!!! Hopefully it won't be ridiculously expensive.
I wanted to hear it at least
It really looks fantastic! It's my dream synthesizer.
And it's real, I just hope they got manufacturing sorted out so they can start building this synthesizer when it's ready.
Would be interesting to know what processor(s) it's based on.
I signed up for the beta on this- I am hoping that I get on, I will do much demos with it.... I want to try it more for the internal sounds than the controller use since I already use a padkontrol and xsession live
Just FYI, that bald guy is Johan Kotlinski. He is the creator and developer of LSDJ, the tracker for the original Gameboy.
