Raytheon developing compact, inexpensive human microwaves

As you know, if you like your weapons "less than lethal" (but much more than comfortable) the U.S. military is your go-to guy. So great is its love for tormenting folks on future battlefields that the Pentagon has spent a small fortune on devices meant to incapacitate through the use of sound, electricity, and microwaves -- including the Silent Guardian that Raytheon trotted out a while back. According to Wired, the company has recently been awarded a couple interesting contracts relating to their human microwave, including one for a "solid state source for use in non-lethal weapons," and another for gallium nitride development. Details are murky, but GaN -- a semiconductor for missile defense radars -- apparently "looks very promising for high-power microwave amplification," allowing the company to greatly reduce the size and cost of the device. The good news? Defense technology that once took up a whole shipping container and cost several million dollars might be getting much smaller, and cheaper, in the future. The bad news? It really really really hurts.

I work for the gov't and we've had these forever. Not in that form though. Our satellite antennas pump out so much RF I've seen a few people almost go blind. It's a nice feeling when you're standing in front of the antenna and getting cooked from the inside out, and see birds drop out of the sky hahaha....
BTW, Raytheon sucks! I work on a bunch of their shit. It's garbage. L-3 all the way baby!
Didn't they have these in that old Dune RTS on the PC?
Sonic Tank! Eeeeeeewaaaaaaaaaah!
so do we have to keep the glass plate on at all times for this one too???
One shot stuns, two shots kill.
Three shots disintegrate.
I live 3 blocks away from a Raytheon building, lmao.
Adults can endure the pain but how about, woman, disabled, children and elders? It's a weapon that can be deploy to kill anyone is its radius despite numbers. Are we so ready to kill ?. Yes, I know it takes a long to to actually kill anyone with microwave but what about the pains? In this case this thing is pain generator and only need a min or two to totally drive you insane. The worst case scenarios would actually start using it on battlefield. I am sure the dead toll would be so high indiscriminately. It's naive to think only enemies are on the battlefield. In wars you also kill the innocents. The right way to do this to limited it's spread angle to avoid unnecessary harms.
My father works for Raytheon. And says that police already have a version of this in use as we speak!!! LOL
And it does not KILL....yet! Its called a "non-lethal weapon". Its funny that Raytheon wont talk about it though. I guess they just ask all the wrong people. You know Agent Molder would have discover the truth already, as He believes!!
Man, if you thought water boarding was bad....
If this thing isn't lethal, then it probably causes physiological damage, and if the Govt says otherwise, they probably aren't looking in the right place.
So what happen to a person who just had some corn on the cob and then gets beamed?
You all crack me up!!!...How many times do you have to repeatedly get caught; like a bunch of gullible little guppies in a feeding frenzy? Instantly gobbling up every bit of what is thrown their way...I'm sure you've heard it before, now this time write it down-maybe on the insides of your eyelids since your eyes are obviously closed most the time anyway! NOTE:Yes, of course the bait is virtually irresistible (it always is...time and time again) and that flashy lure is designed to make you awestruck and spellbound, almost as if it has some kinda hipnotic or mind controlling properties; huh?...But, (This is the important part so pay close attention and remember) There's a sharp HOOK hidden beneath all that "mind-candy" that Uncle Sam is trying to feed you!!!...Snap out of it people and remove yourselves once-and-for-all from the 'Great American Brain-Washing Parade'...Can't you see that what's (supposedly) 'openly' put on the table with one hand and indeed intended to appear to be an honest representation of the close relationship our govt has with its people, propagating mutually shared ideals and strong bonds based on trust, respect and reliability... yeah right!!! Actually it's simply a very effective guise to conceal an entirely different handful of hidden agenda that purposely will not be disclosed to us or the rest of the world and keeping a tight lid on this 'real' information isn't likely for reasons of national security...and isn't likely to be implemented in our best interests either...It's always...always...All About The MONEY...Insider Information Only and none of us are on the inside...It's Corporate Secrets (and the USA is the CEO of the biggest SUPER CORPORATION of all).Yeah it's James Bond ~ 007 ~ Spys ~ Men-In-Black ~ International Terrorism At It's Best - and this doesn't even scratch the surface of how huge this really is ... But since this is only my personal opinion...forget it...and go back to debating the morality and politically correctness of the worlds sole super-power military machines plans to develop a non-lethal microwave weapon...Undoubtedly our major foes are shaking in their boots at just the thought of that being added to our defense arsenal...Wouldn't YOU?
The only reason this device does not cause permanent damage is because the power is limited in testing.
You can bet if it gets deployed it WILL be modified "in the field" to crank up the power so it can "work faster"
And then WILL be causing permanent damage.
LOL. This looks like a "Sonic Tank" out of Dune 2000. Well is a mix of it with a "Mobile Construction Yard"
