Dell adds liquid cooling option to XPS 625, 630

Dell's XPS 625 and XPS 630 gaming desktops may be known for one of the best price-to-performance ratios around, but it looks like Dell isn't ignoring those primarily concerned with performance, and it's now added a liquid cooling option to both models that should please the overclockers out there. That comes in the form of an Asetek liquid cooling system, which should be considerably more quiet than the standard fan-based system, while also keeping the system nice and chilly. Just be prepared to shell out an extra $120 on top of the $899 and $1,099 base price for the 625 and 630, respectively, and wait until late this month for the liquid-cooled systems to actually ship.

Kewl.
thats actually really awesome
Not a bad idea but not very good price-quality ratio (if they plan to use cheap liquid cooling, its not going to be much better than proper air cooling, but will cost about twice as much).
It would be best to find out which parts they use before buying it and searching for reviews of those parts.
I wouldn't buy one myself because my PC is already liquid-cooled with best parts I could buy (without giving away half of my body that is).
asetek uses LCLC (low cost liquid cooling) which currently outperforms almost all other liquid cooling solutions, is extremely simple, has received stellar reviews, and is very cheap
what was that you were saying?
I really wish Asetek would package the LCLC as a retail kit and sell it. They few places I've seen it online don't inspire enough confidence for me to purchase it. And it really isn't clear if they have all of the parts I would need for my particular setup.
I'd pick up an i7 kit w/ 2x graphics cooling in a heartbeat.

Seems like Dell haven't paid the bill for their web hosting service!

what?.....the site still works?...what r u talking about?
Should have taken a screenshot.
Opps!
In the last 15 minutes all what I got was this (Cache):

lol, not saying anything concerning the dell page, because i actually believe that one
but it's ironic that there is a tab in your browser that's titled "Clearly Photoshopped" lol
A company like Dell.. I think can offered their own servers to host their website. It's probably a DNS problem on the side of the server of your ISP, or fake.
Lol, I swear the Dell thing is legit, I got that page for real.
That tab is from this page:

Ya I got that too!! That was really messed up... seems to be fixed after a few refreshes of the window though.
That kind of screen wouldn't be from not paying their hosting...it'd be a server configuration error. Someone screwed up.
hmm, and a digger at that. i'm taking a break from it because i realized it took up way too much of my time.

The better questions is where did you get those cool looking blurry icons?
That says IIS which is the name of the Microsoft HTTP server. It seems like one of their servers screwed up or they were changing something and that accidentally was set as the home page.
Not bad at all.
This isn't surprising, I am a contracted Dell repair tech (I drive to people's businesses and homes to do warranty repairs) and we were required to do the "Foundations 2009" testing, and part of the material and testing was the XPS 630 and it was mentioning and questioning about its water cooling blocks, so I knew about this awhile ago ^^;.
But its very interesting to see an OEM do water cooling, I was surprised to see it in our test material even. I just wonder how good of quality it is.
see above comment about asetek LCLC
very high quality, its gotten amazing reviews from everywhere
HP used the same setup before dell in their Blackbird 002 gaming desktop

I would never let Dell install water cooling in my PC.
Because nothing attracts the overclockers like the thought of running a Dell........???
It's like a moped:
It'll get you there, you just don't want to be seen on the thing.
Nice one Dell... I'll be waiting for one of these to come across the outlet :)
Seriously, while they've improved it's still a Dell. It's nice to see their Alienware purchase affecting their own standards but I wouldn't buy either just based on the cheap proprietary stuff I've seen on previous DELL PC's and laptops.
im sorry but if you tried to show somthing like that off at any self respecting overclockers forum you would get laughed at many times over.
I don't know why everyone is hating on Dell here. :/
While I'd much rather make my own computer if I wasn't as tech savvy I'd probably get one of these. They're good computers. (Friend has one)
Well, when your job is fixing Dells like mine is (as I mentioned, Im a contracted repair tech that works on Dells), you learn that some of their machines can break, ALLOT (I have had allot repeat offenses, as well as DOA parts). So I guess reliability is the big reason they are putting down Dell.
Its funny from my perspective the primary benefit of water cooling is not the overclocking its the more quiet atmosphere. I really don't like fan noise when playing
Heck their optiplex line just stinks. We have gx620's that keep on dying. Mtoherboards, powersupplies and hdds all at once.
Damn! and I just received my HP Firebird. I ordered the XPS 6 weeks ago but they kept on delaying it so I got the Firebird. .... no regrets :(
saad
is that an obama logo? you do know that he is a liar and a moron dont you?
btw dell, hp and gateway suck!!! so do yourself a favor and go homebuilt with premium hardware.
Good idea Dell
I have yet to ever see a Dell where the BIOS wasn't locked up.
I overclocked my quad core Inspiron 530, but that was with the electrical tape on the CPU pin trick.. BIOS on these must be open? Warranty issues?
