oh noes microsoft is making popular commercials subtly throwing mac under the bus... fire... brimstone. Mac commercials deliberately trashed PCs for about 3 years.
who says they're popular? all of the mainstream media outlets reporting on them seem to malign them with infamy.
besides, pc users have been crying for 3 years like you stated yourself. time for mac people to cry too.

i really didnt know MS made VAIO's..
Most of Non-Apple computers will be running windows! So it's good for them! After looking at the Mac ads one can tell that the consumers (like the ones in the commercial) don't really know much or give a shit about the OS... they just want it to look shiny and cool. And that's exactly what MS is showing through these commercials... I personally really like the idea behind these new ads. Good Job MS.
I am so sick of the macs are for graphic professionals argument. They "used" to be! Not any more. PCs are more affordable and do the exact same work. Mac fanboys need to see these commercials for what they really are, the truth. Macs are overpriced. Been a fan of PCs since day 1. If macs were cheaper, I might give them a chance but the reality is they are overpriced. The hardware is the same folks. Why pay more for it and use a unix based OS? Because the face of it is pretty? Because it is dumbed down? Because it saves idiots from themselves?

Nope, read my post. I would try a mac if they were cheaper. The entire point of the commercials moron. My Windows partition hasn't been reloaded in years and neither has my Linux partition. Like I said, macs just save idiots from themselves. Sorry to hear that you are one of them.

BB, your point is far from proven. You might as well step on your own tounge. The commercials are about macs being too expensive vs. PCs. That is what I commented on. Kind of funny that mac people attack the virus aspect of it too. Do you really think macs are safe? How is Safari treating you, seeing as it was the first browser hacked. One before IE. And no, I don't use IE. I use Firefox. Like I said, idiots. I have never had a virus on my Windows box and I never will. I don't click on stupid stuff and I am careful. Why should an OS protect me from myself? Shouldn't I do that? I can take care of myself and tweak my OS just the way I want. That means that I also have the know how not to click on stupid crap. Re-read my original post and see what I was saying. I wasn't being a PC fanboy and I wasn't anti-mac. I am anti-mac pricing.

These Microsoft commercials are getting very annoying and making quite untrue statements. You find me a 13.3 inch laptop that is as hardware packed has macbook. "This computer needs to be fast because sometimes we need to look up stuff, so we can be out the door and get to baseball and do homework and done" HAHA Microsoft vista and fast?!?!?! in the same sentence! a cold cold day in hell. I bet that kid downloads a bunch of songs and gets viruses galore on that thing. And for the "BLUUUU-RAYYYYYY" comment..your willing to buy blu-ray discs at an elevatated price of a standard dvd but your not willing to throw down the extra 500$ for a 15inch entry level macbook pro that will beat the hell out of that horrible sony viao. Show me bench tests of a Macbook pro vs that sony viao. guarantee mac wins. I hate you microsoft and i can't wait for the even bigger OS fail then vista...windows 7!

i honestly don't know what your talking about you angry man. vista is really quite snappy, i run it on my pc, my friend runs it on his laptop, and his ageing P4-which btw runs very well he even using it for gaming. And although i have not checked i bet there is a much more powerful 13.3 laptop for a lower price, but i guess your just too attached to the shiny aluminium.

But what's really funny is that you actually for Mac and OS X inadvertently. Your post makes you sound like such a tool that your choice of PCs is a Mac ad all by itself. Plus when you add that last line about Macs "sav[ing] idiots from themselves," it occurs to me that more than anyone else I've met in a while, you need a Mac.

Since when is the integrated intel chipset that the VAIO has good for gaming? When will this Mac vs PC shit end?! They both serve their purpose. Use which everyone you want. If you have the money and want to fund communism that go ahead and buy the mac ;)
First two were gold, this one.. not so much.
Microsoft is playing the same game of saying we're better than the other guys in a different way. When Windows 7 comes out, it will help there standing. With Vista however, I will REFUSE to use Vista. I'd rather use Windows 7 beta any day over Vista.
If any of these people are real in these commercials, they have to pay taxes on the computer. It counts as income as payment for services rendered to Microsoft for their endorsement.

I've been a graphic and interactive media developer for almost 20 years. PC's run the programs just fine! Yea... Personally, I wouldn't trust my hard work to be safe on a PC, especially regarding cs3 the post-mx Macromedia/Adobe suites. I've seen colleagues with NUMEROUS software/hardware crashes resulting in lost data (despite auto-save and source control) and more importantly lost time. PCs are great for a lot of things - I play wow on my alienware m9750 all the time. As for professional needs, your comment misses the barn by a bit... a lot. You should really cut back on the No Fear drinks and UFC marathons, oh and pick up a new DSi!

What pc's where they using? Even within dell certain lines are much more reliable then others.
Example i have never had any major crashes using dells servers or precision workstations but if you use their dimmension or optiplex line then you would have problems.
I work with both a 8 core Xeon Mac Pro and an old Athlon-64 based PC with 2g ram and an nVida 5600 gt, and yet I prefer photoshop on the PC even though the Mac completely dominates it in terms of performance.
It's absolutely personal taste. The experience is almost identical IMO (keyboard layout notwithstanding).
Should I even waste my time attempting to state the obvious. Microsoft really? you need to get a new advertising department ( though at least your "improving" ) Why is Microsoft even advertising in the first place? Almost all computers come with windows and almost everyone already knows the pro's and cons of Mac's Vs Pc's so whats the point? All this is going to do is continue to provoke people in the OS war. I believe that every OS has its purpose for someone and that none suck or none are completely perfect ether. I will say I do own a Mac as my primary computer but I also own a Windows and Linux box and Like I said before each has there use. The only people that I absolutely hate with a burning passion are those stupid kids that will reply to a forum with the only words being " place your OS here " all in caps that drives me crazy, I mean at least post reasons. But debuts like these are pointless. Anyone who owns a mac is probably not going to switch to Windows and anyone that owns a Windows computer is probably not going to switch to Mac these Ad's and debuts are stupid! They merely feed of the ignorance of the average consumer.

Microsoft is getting gung-ho because netbooks and ultra-low-cost pc's are picking up Ubuntu like mad. And that just cannot be allowed.
i dont think its the actual OS's that people get annoyed about its people saying that mac computers are better when they are off the shelf components marked up by £600. to be honest i like the mac OS even though i use vista but there is no way in hell that i am going to buy a MAC when a comparable 'pc' is often 1/3 or 1/2 the price, sometimes even less.
