Qualcomm developing FLO TV accessories for iPhone OS 3.0, other smartphones
Qualcomm's fledgling FLO TV service might be on to something this time. President Bill Stone's announced plans to offer mobile broadcast to phones via add-on peripherals, including an iPhone 3.0-compatible antenna /chip accessory that's currently in the works, although without an estimated release window (Business Insider suggests it'll be ready sometime next year). The company's also looking into accessorizing Windows Mobile phones, either with a plug-in or some device that connects over Wi-Fi / Bluetooth. Seeing as the latest comScore statistics say less than one percent of all phone users watch mobile broadcast TV, which at the moment has to come built-in, this could prove to be a boon for the service -- assuming Q or the carriers can do something about those excessive pricing plans or fierce competition from Sling.

FIRST
to fail.
Fuck off and die you worthless bag of puke.
Once iPhone gets TV, all those other phones out there can simply forget it.
I'd love this on my iPhone!
Flo Rida is excited as well.
God what a bad Simpsons episode.
At least the pancakes are good.
I hope they make it for the Archos, since they aren't coming out with their TV Snap On in the US.
Is it not technically feasible to have little digital TV tuners here, like they have in Korea?
seeing that they have them in korea, that pretty much means its technically feasible. we just need the market to adapt.
I guess we would rather sit at home and watch t.v. on a big ass flatscreen, than sit in a packed train and watch on a tiny ass screen. Mobile t.v. isn't all that important to me. I'll just tivo that shit and watch it when i get home. AFTER i've worked out and eaten my low calorie dinner of course. Seatte aka "the skinniest city in america" ftw.
I just hope it will get released, unlike that PSP TV Tuner (that never came; at least not outside of Japan)
PSP TV Tuner? Must have been DVB-T transmission.
OMNOMNOM
That picture implies that Fox broadcasts in 16:10, which we all know is untrue.
Or that it has software cropping/scaling.
Just sayin'.
It also implies that it's going to come with a tiny set of rabbit ear antennas. Good job at identifying an obvious photoshop job.
the cnn channel fills the average screen 400 x 240
I have that on my sprint phone. I barely use it. It kills my battery. If it's wifi, I guess everyone would need to carry their wall charger too. I wont wear a man purse, dam it! If it's at home, I have a 50" tv with cable and internet? why would I use this?
In this age of TiVos and torrents and iTunes and whatever else, is there really a need for this? I can't ever imagine a situation where I would want to flick through channels on my iPhone. I use it for video, but only the videos I want to see (and ones I can pause when I need to).
15 bucks a month for 15 channels
What exactly do you mean by "other smartphones"? iPhone isn't a smartphone per-se... o_O
hes eatin pancakes, i know i seen this episode i just cant remember what it was about, lol
ORB FTW!
If only Apple built this sort of thing into their iPhones.
iPhone Pro, coming August 2009.
I'd rather have an atsc tuner
heh, that was my favorite episode where home makes out with beef! he even dressed it as a woman! LOL!
I really like the Agent 18 case, the one time I didn't have it on my phone I dropped it and cracked the screen. Luckly I found http://www.iphone3gscreenrepair.com. They repaired my phone for only 69.99 and they had it back to me in just 2 days! I was very impressed! Apple wanted 199 for the same repair.
