Well well well.
Well. What do we have here? Apparently the cats and kittens over at T-Mobile have something special planned on Tuesday, April 21st. We've just gotten a very brief email letting us know that something was going down, but without any other detail. Obviously our gadget-alarms started clanging, and the way we see it we've only got a few things to get excited about. Will we see the launch of
Cupcake? Could this be the official US unveiling of the
Magic? Or perhaps we'll finally get to see the new Sidekick which
just hit the FCC. Look -- anything is possible, but whatever happens, we'll be there. What do you guys think is in store?
" We've just gotten a very brief email letting us know that something was going down"
Yea...all your stock value!
NYC....by China...
IPHONE to Tmobile, that is the announcement
i hope they're going to announce the tilt 2 (aka Touch Pro 2)
hahahahah that was a good one
ZING!
Could it actually be the Pre being released.......nahhh.
Wrong carrier dude.
Why didn't I think of it? Information about a Sprint phone being announced by T-Mobile?! Of course!
@bighap
just a bit too literal arent ya?
I didn't realise carriers had been set in stone yet?
Sorry brain freeze...thinking about the UK not the US carriers...
iPhone exclusivity is over and they're announcing the arrival on their networks! Soon to be followed by Verizon and Sprint next year!! WOOOT!!
/wakes up from psychotropic induced hallucination
Who gives a crap about the iPhone?
Oh yea teenie boppers...
iPhone is not a smart phone...
the iPhone is a phone for dumb people to make them feel smart..
Get a BlackBerry or Palm Pre if you want to get stuff done other than make poop sounds...
BUt AHAHAHAHA!!!, the BB's and Pre's are American/non-Chinese based. Knowing the cultural racist that you are I would assume that would violate your value system. Looks like you are stuck with good old Chinese based tech, like the sciphone. Enjoy.
Verizon is CDMA, yo.
Not sure about Sprint beause we in the UK are awesomesauce and use GSM, all ze time.
Ahhh, another Google Phone, as simple as that.
i call cupcake + magic and you can upgrade your g1's to cupcake
and maybe also the announcement of the huwai (or however it is spelled) phone also, along with a release date of it.
Perhaps a magical cupcake filled sidekick, given their chain of names.
give me a damn new windows mobile phone you swines!
either cupcake or the new sidekick. doubt it's going to be the G2 or whatever the hell they're calling it today.
i wouldnt mind if it was the cupcake release. i would love an on screen keyboard for my G1.
im just waiting til June to see if we get a new iPhone..
G2+G3+Cupcake.. maybe not the G3, but that'd be dope.Who uses a sidekick anyways?
Nationwide 3G rollout announcement?
The crappy G2 (Sapphire) alone can't carry the event... maybe they'll include the Huawei (rumored G3)...
That's what i was thinking. I hope so. That Huawai phone looks filllllthyyyyy
.
?
I hope its the following "T mobile will bring 3g coverage and service to every town/city in america, on top of that, we will have the new iphone unrestricted and some other bad ass android devices"
Wake me up when that happens
My guess, rollout of sidekick v2,194 along with:
1. A few dozen glittery bedazzled pink and purple cases to make the SK like TOTALLY AWESOME!;
2. Jonas brothers band for entertainment (who else could it be to attract TMO customers?); and
3. free 'purity rings' for the gaggles of 'like totally kewl' female teeny-boppers (TMOs preferred customer niche) who will be positively atwitter to get their little Miley Cyrus fingers on the new sidekick.
Following the event will be a new batch of teeny-bopper commercials to follow on the ones we've had to endure recently.
I am not sure why you think that TMobile is the only one going after teens. ATT/Cingular and Verizon certainly have their fair share of teeny commercials. Remember the BFF Jill commercials (probably the most successful)? It was a ATT/Cingular commercial.
Is it because their color is pink?
I agree with ham sandwich. I wonder if they'll show some multitouch capabilities... atleast I can dream.
Chapter 11?
I'm sure it's nothing that will make me regret buying an 8900 yesterday... right?
I don't think it's cupcake. Since when does a minor ROM update warrant a launch event?
If I had to hazard a guess I'd say it's this:
1. They'll announce the HTC Sapphire (aka G2).
2. To go along with the G2 they'll showcase Cupcake and announce it as a firmware upgrade for the G1 as well.
3. They'll showcase the new SideKick. Believe it or not there's still a market for that phone in the 12-16 market.
4. They'll showcase a few other phones for their summer 09' line-up. Nothing to major though, a couple feature phones and dumbphones.
I don't believe the Huawei phone will be showcased and I don't think any new WinMo phones will be unveiled. T-Mobile's big thing right now is their Android exclusivity and SideKick line-up... that's what they'll want all their press attention on.
I'd have to agree on all counts.
Huawai... Is... Android...
+1 :D:D:D
How do you get invited to one of these events?
Just more htc lowend garbage,. Yawn
Too bad they use higher quality components than the device you are using. Oh, and they all have removable batteries too.
What is the most overhyped cell os,.?
Clue , ends with roid.
You misspelled "iPhone OS"
Steroid?
Iphoneroid
Imagine just imagine for one second that T-mobile shocks everyone if they decided to launch the Nokia N97 exclusively in the states America needs the N-Series mobile phones . Wow that would be amazing, man i cant wait for that mobile phone am so getting it. T-mobile + Nokia n97 = Heaven
I say it's their version of the BLACKBERRY STORM!!!!
My bet is on the Sidekick. I know that's what *I'd* like to see more of. I think this device has the potential to really come out of nowhere and surprise everyone. I know nothing about it other than the following:
1) Microsoft owns Danger now (which could result in a more open development platform, app store, and lots more advertising money)
2) It runs on a new OS
3) It will supposedly have a 3.2" 854x480 screen.
The screen is what I'm so excited about. I've always felt that to have a truly desktop-like web browsing experience, you need an 800-pixel-wide screen. None of that zooming in/out nonsense. But will the CPU, OS, and browser app be up to snuff such that it can display web pages accurately and bring them up fast?
UMA on the G1? I can only wish.
They will leave the business then. Final words: So long suckers.
