JVC intros 1080p GD-463D10 3D LCD monitor in Japan

Not that JVC's been avoiding the 3D bandwagon or anything, but it has yet to formally introduce a 3D HDTV to really take advantage of the in-home 3D revolution that 3D backers just swear is right around the bend. The GD-463D10 is a 46-inch LCD HDTV with a native 1,920 x 1080 resolution, 2,000:1 contrast ratio, twin ten-watt speakers and support for three-dee material. We're also told that the set will come bundled with a pair of polarized glasses when it ships in Japan early next month. The only problem? That ¥700,000 ($6,978) price tag, which seems particularly painful with no real 3D programming to speak of. Yet, of course.

Because it sounds like interlaced crap. Not to mention that our "advanced" TV standard can't deliver one set of images with truly good quality, let alone double the data.

knowing that 5 years ago regular 46" Full HD tv's had about the same price or even more, this is indeed, very awesome. I think it would be wise to invest in 3D TV technology now. Cant wait to get this in my house... dont care if i have 2 wear glasses! Playing games like this would be too cool

ive used cowon s9,im in california .It blows hard here in america compared to ipod touch and is looked down upon Geared for third world countries.Ill put it too u lightly it lacks 34,000 applications.,no wifi browser in 2009!!?
weak ass user interface,plasticky flimsy construction,no email client,no google maps,no accelorometer,no ambient light sensor,no freakin games,no speaker,thats just what i thought of in 3 quick minutes.
here are the biggies,no steering wheel car integration kits available thru highend car stereos such as alpine pioneer,etc,thru ipod u can control artist,song,video movies etc thru stering wheel controls here in usa.
Cowon lacks high end docks with remote control interface say for office dock,or living room surrouns sound.i can say this much ive seen dj's heree in north hollywood mixing for highend parties with 2 ipod touches docked into a mac,now that is sick.,.,that cown 3.5 mm technology is so 1984 technology.,.,You need to get with the times.U are seriously missing out pencil shapener,,

It sucks that you still have to wear the stupid glasses to view in 3-D. Can they just add additional film right on top of the screen. I don't know how that would work but I refuse to wear those glass.

There is no 3D revolution coming unless they can pull it off without the need for glasses. It's taking long enough just to get HD fully implemented. What makes anyone think that they can now turn around and tell 95%+ that their HDTVs that are obsolete and they need new ones PLUS they need to wear glasses to watch TV. That shit isn't going to happen... and if does it certainly isn't soon.
