Zune HD website exists, may mean nothing at all (update: means nothing at all)
We've gotten a handful of tips about zunehd.net being online, so we thought we'd take a moment to address it. Yes, zunehd.net exists, and yes, there's a big, nasty Zune HD logo hanging out on it right now. Unfortunately, since the site appears to be registered via a proxy, there's really no way of telling if its legit or just someone with money to burn. That said, we have every reason to believe that the Zune HD is the real deal, and this very well could be another sign that something magical is about to happen. Keep your eyes peeled, but keep a grain of salt handy.
Update: Thanks commenters! According to this post on Zunited, the Zune HD site is registered to someone named Zac Altman -- a "Zune guru." They have those?

In that case Jubei, are you saying the Zune is NOT a me-too to the iPod because of the built in radio?
Jubei: Return of the Human Irritant
JUBIE! i havent seen you trolling in a few!
How are you, you little twat
Hey, Jubei, before you spout off, you should probably do some research. Look at Archos... Oh, but no, the iPod Touch can't be a me-too product, because it's obviously a different shape... Oh, and it uses flash memory instead of a higher capacity hard drive... Oh, and there are many little details that make it different- much in the way the Zune is different from the iPod and iPod Touch. Quit with the double standards bullshit.
Go back under your bridge, troll. We've seen more than we want from you in the past week. Take another month long vacation.
Yes of course the two devices has a major difference that should be taken to account. I should not compare the two devices at all.
The fact that the Zune has generated "ZERO" interest from a recent report posted here on Engadget, is proof enough that both devices are quite different. One is extremely desireable, the other not. With a ZERO percent interest, perhaps the product favorably compares to another product like a "porta-potty" or even a "pooper scooper".
Thanks for helping me clear that up guys.
Jubei, the sales and the marketshare of the Zune prove otherwise. There is interest in the Zune, and it can only grow, provided Microsoft is willing to continue to grow the product and introduce new features to the line, and continue to do it better than the competition from Apple. Obviously your grip on reality is slipping further- thanks for helping me clear that up, Jubei.
Gosh, maybe your right Zune God. Let me check.

Nope still Zero, Nada, 0% interest. Ahaha
lol
Jubei, according to that little chart, that means no company makes an MP3 player that has any interest- other than Apple of course. Imagine that. How ignorant of you to use one study (maybe 2, but I wouldn't doubt it if this was the one Engadget had played host to a while back) as the sole determination of whether or not a product has interest or not... But by your standards, lets see how this works out- Zune marketshare > Apple Macintosh computer marketshare. Have fun with that one, Jubei. Maybe you'll continue to make ignorant little comments.
By the way, apparently you can't read: Z*E*U*S.:God =/= Zune God. I don't know, but it really shows your lack of intelligence.
I know we're well aware the site is a fake now, but to everyone that said MS runs their own tracking software and would have no need for Google Analytics. While you'll never seen MS using a Google product MS doesn't run in house analytics software. They run Webtrends.
You don't think it's just a very clever "proxy-by-proxy" thing? Anyone?
wow.... got this post up 3 days later than i discovered the site lol... good job ;)
Anybody know the release date? Or is it still a rumor? If MS is going to do this, they need to do it fast. The new Sony touch walkman is coming, new iPhone in June, and everybody would expect new iPods in September. If MS wait until the late 2nd or 3rd quarter, nobody would care as the focus of news/blogs would be the new iPhone.
Yeah "Zune Guru" is right up there with "Social Media Expert". Get a life, dude.
isn't "zune guru" hebrew for "never been laid"?
Engadget always has to take a shot at Zune... even though it's clearly better than the iPod. Joshua Topolsky did not have to say "they have those?", referring to Zune gurus. Of course they have Zune Gurus - it's the better PMP!
Maybe this just means that Microsoft is going against the damn MPAA and will let you put HD content on the Zune without having to jump through any hoops.
Profit
has anyone noticed that the address of this "zuneHD" website is in Australia registered to Zac who lives in Australia?. Oh wait. Proxy server as mentioned, nevermind :)
