Beatles Rock Band bundle will boast Höfner bass, Ludwig-branded drums

Not really surprising to hear, but exciting none the less... according to a teaser email sent out to people on The Beatles: Rock Band mailing list -- the special edition bundle will include a custom branded Höfner bass and Ludwig drums. The email also mentions other "custom" content, which we are hoping will be either a Rickenbacker guitar like the one Lennon often used or a gigantic Harrison-esque moustache / beard combo. We're just going to have to wait it out together guys -- it's not expected until September 9th -- so let's chill and enjoy the video after the break.

Wouldn't it cheaper to just buy actual used instruments off of Craigslist and learn to play for real?
Real instruments don't give you Gamerscore, silly.
probably not

Yes... of course, invite all your family to play the Beatles with you in the garage on real instruments... they'll really be motivated... mostly your young 7 year old niece and your 78 years old grandpa.
Learn to play for real? Don't be silly.
/facepalm
This argument again?
Look... I play Rock Band to have fun. I have no illusions of actual musical talent or ability.
I don't film my own movies, or write my own books... Instead I watch and read what people with talent have created.
Let it go already.
I think this is applicable:

Alright, alright. Just asking.
I used to think the same thing, but it really is nothing like playing a real instrument. The only thing that makes it like playing an instrument is that the controller looks (cheaply) like one and the game involves music. It is much easier and anyone with little or no talent can do it and have fun, although it does take a certain, albeit different, type of talent to be really good at it. Also, I know some pretty talented musicians who also enjoy playing the game even though they could probably just pick up a real guitar and play it even better.
Do you ever get tired of saying really stupid things?
Will there be an in-game Yoko who infiltrates the band and breaks everyone up?
Oh, that's such a hilarious sentiment. And so accurate, not to mention fresh! Please tell us how you feel about airline food or the blinking click on your VCR, comedian.
You DO realize you "play a real instrument" clowns were booed off the Internet stage like 2 years ago, right? It's a video game. People play it to have fun.
For future reference, also not clever/witty/funny comments are:
- Pick up a real gun (for FPS games)
- Pick up a real football/baseball/golf club (for sports games)
- Pick up a real 747 (for flight sims)
- Pick up a real amusement park/railroad/etc. (for the "tycoon" series of games)
- Pick up a real species (for all the "god" games like Sims, Spore, etc.)
@konshuss if that happened, the game would be full of even more win than already speculated.
hopefully it is a full drum set with proper placement of the drums. Give us the high hat.
YES PLZ!
does the guitar gently weep?
Do want! ALRIGHT!
The Beatles? 40 years since they came over....a 40 year old rock band.
Why does anyone care? Is present day music that pathetic?
Yes.
Actually, present-day music is that pathetic.
But without the Beatles you would have no modern music!!! Imagine a world filled with only Jazz music and women screaming at cats. Is that what you want?!?!?
Yeah, and what's with the Beethoven guy? He died over 180 years ago and people still rave about his stuff! Why does anyone care about him?
Yes. Yes it is.
Modern-day (non-commercial) music is actually as good as it's been in the last thirty years or so, but this is The Beatles. And they're fully deserving of their reputation.
I'm 21 and they're honestly one of my favorite bands. In fact all my favorite bands are AT LEAST 2 decades old.
@ehisforadam
Maybe because he was a musical genius, far ahead of of his time....and completely on a different level.
lennon used epiphone casino often, george used the rick
John and George both used Rickenbackers during their career (and Paul, too)--John is known as much for his Rick 325 as his Epi Casino.
No offense to Ringo, but he wasn't known as a technical drummer. I can't imagine expert mode being very challenging.
Actually, Ringo was quite a talented drummer. The fills on A Day in the Life are extremely complex, even if they don't immediately sound like it.
if i put tea clothes over the drum heads will i get his signature sound? sweet.
Dude, you try and drum Strawberry Fields on acid.
well, since it'll be a Ludwig-branded fake drumset, it'll sound MUCH better than the no-name fake drumsets from earlier Rock Band games.
good grief...things have gotten so bad it's considered worthwhile to actually brand fake instruments.
Agreed. I wish this fad would end already.
If it only came with a herb growing kit for a more realistic Beatles experience.
And ya know, help with our glaucoma.
The Beatles weren't *always* drug-crazed. Really they had about a 2 year period that that entire reputation came from. In their early to middle days, they were basically an innocent boy band. In their last years, they were wizened old veterans, probably still on the weed but no longer (apparently) on anything harder. That psychedelic period of about 1967-1968 made everybody think they were a bunch of crazy druggies forever.
ah I hope they really focus on those early years and marketable pop songs . . . oh who am I kidding I dont have to worry.
do you get to still play when they stop doing live shows and just send tapes in to the studio to make the white album?
"Gaze upon these immortal Rock Gods, young whippersnappers"...
@chris
No offense to Ringo, but he wasn't known as a technical drummer. I can't imagine expert mode being very challenging.
...true, ringo wasnt that incredible of a drummer (sigh, neil pert) however what drove the beatles to replace pete best with ringo was the fact that ringo didnt have to be told what to do next and he almost never needed to record more than once. he could feel the flow of what the others were about to do and with george/john/paul, ringo was as spotless as a drummer could be.
i think if youre playing as ringo and you missed a beat or note, you should be replaced by pete best, hahaha
Pete was the best beatle...
when, heaven willing, the Neil Peart drum set and track pack comes out....I'll be the happiest geek ever.
All due props to the Beatles and all....I'm preordering this bundle the day it's possible...but good lord, could you imagine that? With a fake 360-deg stage...fake timpani...fake gong...fake chimes....fake bells.......... ::droolcoma::
Hey isn't this a cover of that song from that Nike commercial?
mini Hammond Organ plz?
+ mini Leslie = Epic Win
Isn't nonetheless one word?
Lennon Legend
The Beatles suck.
cool
Hell yes.
I love that Hofner bass, it's so beautiful.
