LG's GC900 Viewty II gets Smart, gets official
Put away your smudgycams and break out your wallets, LG's Viewty II has been given the full studio photo treatment as part of an unveiling at LG's official blog. Dubbed the Smart, the GC900 is just 12.4 mm thick (under a half-inch), packing a 3-inch touchscreen on its face and of course that 8 megapixel camera on the back, confirmed to be able to capture video at 720 x 480 and geotag photos using the integrated A-GPS receiver. WLAN and HSDPA are also confirmed, but that's about all the info LG is setting in stone at the moment -- not that we didn't already know everything about it.
Update: Oops! Looks like LG pulled the information -- good thing you looked here first.

That looks somewhat like Samsung Memoir but a bit sleeker.... so I take it S-class UI? I really hope they drop those fruity looking icons... and just be LG
Bezel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MMMM I would like a double portion of bezel.. to go please.
would you like to Go Large for 50 pence Sir.
Errr yes please :)
saying that I like the GPS Tagging of the photos
No it uses the LG Arena UI
yes thats the s-class UI
what os does this run? what web browser? looks good
If only it was a WM I would consider it. =(
It uses S class like it says in the pictures.
This thing looks beautiful.
Me wants.
If you mean the red head model, then I concur!
LG is capable of producing some really nice looking phones with loads of cool features...ON PAPER ONLY!
When you get the real deal the OS is slow, buggy and crashes all the time, the touchscreen is not that responsive, the pictures taken on 8MP look worse than the ones I used to take on my 2MP camera and the battery life is weak.
And I'm saying that because I OWN an LG Viewty and a Renoir!
Offloading them as soon as my contract upgrade is available.
Forget the camera who is the fine looking bitch in the last picture? Those lips were made for one thing and it isn't talking on the cell phone.......
This does NOT look like the iPhone.
Looks much better, IS much better.
Almost perfect, except for the lack of xenon flash :(
w/o wm?
Damn... Still no lens cover or a xenon flash. The only reason why I sold my Viewty was because of the lens cover. It was too just too much of a scratch magnet on that lens. Other wise the old phone has only one other problem, it's inability to read bigger micro-SD card.
Hope they sorted those out.
I have a Viewty with an 8gb memory card in it... you just need to have a maxinum of 2gb free space when you put it into the phone.
Ha, I'm glad it's got so many little could/should haves... (bigger screen, xenon, lens cover)
Because it wont be comin to the States anyway. eat it!
Who wouldn't want a phone that has two....count 'em TWO sets of legs?
WOW it's amazing!!
Usually I prefer Samsung's design but this is wonderful!!
Forget the phone, that's the most amazing looking red head I've ever seen.
So is this bsically an overpriced instinct,?
I can't keep with iphonesque cells that samsung puts out.
Contentrate on quality not quantity!!!!!
the original viewty came out way before the instinct and this is made by lg not samsung
This is what the LG VX-1100 (Voyager Replacement) should look like.
I might be alone here, but does nobody else think that all of the other touch phones excluding the iPhone have really poor touch response. When I use my iPhone it acts the way I would expect it to, if I visualised it before using one. But with all the other phones I have tried they seem quite laggy. You either have to push on much harder, or they just generally don't feel responsive.
The S-Class UI is like a nock off of the iPhone OS, but the ways they have made it different make it crap. I'm not saying this to brag about the iPhone, I really would like some of these other manufacturers to start making phones that are as "plush" to use as an iPhone because they are much better equip in every other area.
It seems that its the PC/MAC battle all over again - Mac seem to have to winning OS, but its locked to dated hardware (minus the screen technology). Gimme a LG Viewty 2 handset with iPhone OS and Screen please?
Hope they'd bundle a *better* PC software with this one, the original Viewty's sucked, I mean badly....
Does anyone not notice that the camera is not even pointed at the couple?
at the couple faces I mean.
They have faces on their knees. O_O
the front looks exactly like an Omnia HD

Who is the model? She is hot!
Both models are hot. (no not the male)
PLEASE listen to what the guy above said about LG phones sounding good on paper... I too have a Viewty and the specs are great, but it's a truly horrible phone:
You have to touch the screen 2-3 times before it registers, the photo quality is really terrible (5MP has to be reduced to about 2MP before it looks clear in most cases, that is when it doesn't come out blurred), the UI is bizarre and most java apps just don't work
The only saving graces are the video camera, which is pretty good, the browser, which is pretty great, and the manual focus on the camera.
Make sure you know what you're getting yourself into when you're getting an LG. I'm going back to S.E.
