Magic Cube all-in-one card reader rotates, impresses
Multi-card readers? Sure, they're usually kind of a snooze... but this one's pretty cute. The so-called Magic Cube All-in-One reader -- which looks not a little like a Rubik's cube -- is a 56-in-one jack of all trades (microSD, SDHC, SD, xD, you name it) which tranfers up to 480Mb per second, and comes with a USB to mini USB cable. You can own this puppy (for Windows and Linux) for $9.99.

bedoodoodoo first post!!!
Get a life you moron
I bet I can solve it in 15 seconds behind my back
For Windows and Linux only?
Wow, so it checks for Mac OS and then refuses to work?
Bold move.
$5 says that it works perfectly with OS X but they didn't have a pirated copy of OS X (or a computer to run it on) in their little office somewhere in the depths of South East Asia
Or perhaps it's a beautifully ironic comment on proprietary connections?
@JamesR87(??):
What proprietary connections?
Are you deef or something? Or selectively blind? ;)

Oh yeah, t h o o o s e.
56 in 1? I'm guessing by the size of it that none of those is CF.
well i think i'm losing the plot in these x in one devices, following the link i count a total of 9 possible card inputs, how does that equate to 56?
"microSD, SDHC, SD, xD, you name it"
It OBVIOUSLY is missing CF card reader, there I named it, and it don't have it.
ARE there even 56 formats??
Maybe if you count STORAGE CAPACITY as a 'Format' you'll end up with 56 permutations...
This is how IOGEAR defines 56 formats (from the product description of their "56-in-1" reader):
- Compact Flash/Micro Drive: CF-Type I, CF-Type II, CF-Ultra II, Micro Drive, CF-Pro II, CF-Extreme, CF-Extreme III, CF-PSP II, CF-Supper, CF-Ultra X
- SD/SDHC: SD, SDHC, SD-Pro, SD-Pleomax, SD-Pro C, SD-Ultra II, SD-Ulrta II Plus, SD-Extreme III, SD-Ultra X, SD-Turbo, SD-Supper, SD Max, Mini SD, Mini SD-Pro, Mini SD-Pleomax, MMC, MMC-Pleomax, MMC Pro, HS-MMC, MMC Plus, MMC-Plus Turbo, RS MMC, RS MMC-Pleomax, RS MMC-Speed, RS MMC-Max, MMC Mobile, MMC Mobile-ProC, MMC Mobile-Pocketnet, MMC Micro*
- Olympus DC Card: Olympus DC Card, Olympus DC Card(M), Olympus DC Card (H)
- microSD/microSDHC: microSD/microSDHC, T-Flash
- Memory Stick: MS, MS-Magic Gate, MS-PRO Magic Gate, HS-MS-PRO Magic Gate, MS-DUO, MS DUO Magic Gate, MS-PRO Duo, HS-MS-PRO Duo, HS-MS-PRO Duo Magic Gate, MS-PRO Duo-PSP, MS-PRO Duo-Gaming Memory Stick
- M2: Memory Stick Micro (M2)
Notice though that the IOGEAR reader supports CF and its many variations. This one doesn't. My guess is that the people in marketing had no idea what 56-in-1 meant either, and just stuck it on this product to make it sound "cooler".
Oh, no tears please. Its a waste of good suffering.
Hellraiser? Nobody? I would think that was obvious. I'm actually going to pull that out for a viewing in the near future.
- What's your pleasure, Mr. Cotton?
- The Magic Cube.
- Take it, it's yours.
- It always was.
Wow it looks like a mini Bee Hive. Lol guess you'll get a Buzz out of using it, not.
My reader/writer adapter crapped out last week. I bought it for ten bucks three years ago. I went looking for a replacement and found the replacement cost 67 cents. Seriously. 67 cents. Given I only use SDHC and microSDHC, I think I'll go with the 67 cent model. Although, there is one major design flaw -- one you plug it in USB, it blocks the USB slot next to it on my computer. I hope the Magic Cube does not do this.
