Mercedes shows off Splitview display, other dashboard perks in the 2010 S-Class
Sure, the cold metal exterior looks like a regular old car, but the 2010 S-Class from Mercedes-Benz has a fuzzy technological heart, including an abundance of readout displays and a Splitview screen. Quite like it sounds, the Splitview display offers up one view to the driver (like a map), while the passenger sees a completely different image (like a movie, or a picture of somebody looking at a map), and after hearing all about it for the past while, Mercedes is actually giving us a glimpse of it in an overly-dramatic promo video for the latest S-Class to clutter up the roads. Check it out after the break.

Available only on a Mercedes Benz.....for an additional $10,000.
i was about to post that! lol
How does it work? Is it like covered in little edges that have different pixels on either side, so its different from right and left?
I am surprised no one has noticed the fault int his picture yet.
The woman is watching a report on a soccer match (you can see the crests of the two teams, Hamburg and Wolfsburg).
Everyone knows women don't give a shit about soccer (at least here in Europe, where people are normal).
Actually for a while it looked like soccer had only women as fans, although now men stopped dropping off from watching it. It's healthy guys in their prime running around you know, I'm not sure why men would watch it actually.
Anyway women make a up a surprisingly big segment of those interested in europe.
If you are really European, why do you call it soccer?
Everyone with half a brain knows it's the real football.
Perhaps because only suckers (sounds like soccer) and women watch it :)
Wwhat? I wasn't talking to you.
:[ :)
What is this? you need some kind of small device with buttons on it to change the channel? nuh, not as cool as chrysler with its "iphone-like" touch capabilities.
Where are you from? The neck of the woods down south?
We in the civilized world call that remote control. Is a common thing here in the western hemisphere.
And if you have this Splitview screen, you don't wanna change Daddy's Bang Bros. show, while fiddeling around with a touchscreen to switch the channel to Teletubbies, right?
Seriously, any german car >> chrysler. No comparison.
Just my luck I would get the screen configured for a country with the driver on the other side of the car. Then the driver would see the movie and the passenger would get the maps. Darn, I hope that simple software change doest get made on my screen.
If its anything like the BMW5, you can turn the whizzy wheel thing 10clicks left, 10 right, 3 left, 3 right, hit it 2 times and get all the dealer options and diag.
Just clamp 4 to 6 mirrors in your car to fix it.
