BAHAHAHAHAHAH!
MONSTER(r) Cock suckers...
Heh, that was out of context holy crap. Why on earth would anyone buy those headphones anyway? They are no better then an 80 dollar pair of skull candy headphones
See what I mean by bias.
They are better than Skullcandies. Much better.
See my post aobut the Dre's judging them OBJECTIVELY a few posts above you.
I think the most intelligent way to really put monster in their place would be for engadget to do some reviews of solid alternatives to monster products at fractions of the price.
I wish Monster would just go belly up already, seriously. Monoprice rules!
i pointed this out to you guys and even sent a (link to a) screen shot sometime between march 16th to 24th...
i know you get a ton of emails. but either it took you a really long time to get to mine or you didnt read it... if you did read it, it would be nice to be an appreciated reader and given credit.
You know what....I work for a very large television company as a project manager. Guess how many monster cables we use in the entire plant????
Absolutely fucking ZERO.
Overpriced and overproduced. We have done many tests on cables and anything from Belden wins hands down. As far as consumer cables are concerned you should purchase from monoprice. Good stuff on the lo lo.
Engadget should sue.
There gonna sue you for mentioning the word "Monster" now
The other quotes also look like BS
They probably just pay for the good reviews
aren't you worried they'll sue you every time the word "monster" is used on this site?
monster cable has always been a total ripoff, ive had way more success with many other brands. 400$ for a pair of headphones....comeon. how much are the Chinese labor workers building these loads of crap making? 1$ a day maybe?. ive never looked at their products as any better than the stock crap. now seeing that they has falsely quoted engadget to sell their overpriced crap, ill never buy a monster cable product, and being i work for a tech service that advises people for tech to buy for setting up home theaters, i'm going to help steer others away from them as well.
To monster cable: if your looking for a quote for anymore junk, heres one for ya: "monster cable is a waste of money and on performance standpoint, are no better than a much lower priced competition." you can use that quote all you like, i wont sue.
Look up 'Sennheiser HE90' in google ;). That said, the ignorance of this post = silly. Guess where most of your computers parts are mainly made? In China (the Shenzhen region to be exact). Your iPod? In China, OEM'ed by Foxconn for Apple. They are paid more than $1 per day people. That said, there are many quality headphones out there buy other manufacturers out there. Some headphones easily fetch $1000. If you haven't lsitened to any high-end headphones, you really shouldn't judge. That said, the Dr.Dre Beats aren't high-end. They're more mid-fi, comparable with $100-200 headphones. Monster's cables = sucks. Their audio section fears much better, particularly their earphones.
Hell, sue'em. Sauce for the goose, sauce for the gander!
"in which to drop a beat into."
Really? Not only did they misuse an Engadget quote, but they picked one with bad grammar?
Monster is evil. www.monoprice.com The place to buy good cables of all kinds.
hahaha monster is trash
I was going to change my ID to 'Monster Mi' just so they'd sue me.
I will chip in to sue their asses!
"Monster Cable sucks."
Been tweeting this (and other variations on the theme) EVERYDAY since the last article about them suing Monster Transmission. JOIN ME IN TWEETING THE MONSTER NAME INTO OBLIVION DAILY!!!
The best part is how they didn't even use proper sentence construction. I mean, really? Into which to drop the beat into?
This company deserves to be destroyed utterly and completely. i will never stop smearing its name as long as i live as long as it exists and neither should you.
Suck my dick Noel.
i'm a tad drunk and will go to sleep now.
ciao baby
Ok, people, let's get straight to the facts.
People are bias both ways (hate and fanboism) due to these reasons:
It's endorsed by Dr. Dre
It's made by Monster
The fact, is for NOISE CANCELLING headphones (i.e. an alreadly overpriced headphone section), they ARE among the best in their class.
Thing is, just because it's made by Monster, DOES NOT mean it's crap.
In fact, their headphone and earphone products are FAR better and have far more substance than their cables.
e.g. The Monster Turbines canalphones are got a lot of praise from audiophiles, who don't care what brand or who it's made by and they will happily bash 'audiophile brands' if they product isn't up to standard.
The fact is that the Beats have a balanced sound and ARE NOT suited for hip-hop despite it being endorsed by Dr. Dre.
Thing is, unlike most of his fans, Dr. Dre actually has a grasp of sound quality and what it is. Monster reportedly went through several prototypes with Dre before Dr. Dre decided on one he liked.
That said, if you don't need noise canceling, in which most people don't as in-ear monitors (IEM's) and canalphones isolate far better, there are far better products out there sound quality wise for less / same price.
Be objective people and judge the product on what it is, not what it's associated to.
That said, Monster can get over themselves tbh.

Here's an interesting one. Google for Monster Cable.
At the time of writing, the third entry in the Google list is this page with the title clearly displayed "Engadget endorses Monster Cable? Uh, hell no."
Monster has achieved the amazing and shot itself in the foot :)
monster cable is the perfect example of pointless technology company trying to find a celeb black man to make them legit.
I pay $1.50 for my PRISTINE QUALITY HDMI Cables. They Last and so does my money!!!
@dave chappelle sue for defamation no need to proove the quote sold headphones just that the quote harmed Engadget, that shouldn't be hard.
ROFL - candidate for post of the year :):):)
...I don't think they'll do that again...
they haven't removed it at all, it's still there as of now (April 18th 2009m 09:05 AM GMT), in the page source it still appears and that's what Google will see too
http://i41.tinypic.com/2d0f9qq.jpg
I'm not sure if anyone noticed, but it is not in fact gone from their page. They removed the quote from the main section, but if you go to the page with javascript off, the quote is still there and quite visible.
Just a curious question...............Does anyone know if Monster Cable has tried sueing Monster Energy Drink? Now that would be interesting. I don't understand why Monster Cable would sue anyone using the name Monster unless the company being sued had anything to do with manufacturing cables.
That was absolutely taken out of context, and in an impression of what Dave Chappele would say...
Come on Monster, yall had to DIG for that. :|
I have the Dr. Dre's.... and the iPhone cable is broken...
It makes clicky noises... and sometimes one of the ear fails...
I think someone should start a company that manufactures audio and video cables at a much more realistic and affordable price and call it MUNSTER CABLES...........LOL.........
http://www.basenyc.com/
to me the logo on the headphones looks just like the base nyc logo
i wonder who copied who
I will say I bought 3 pair of Monster speaker cables with gold plated pin ends a few weeks ago for my Polk 6750s. They were on clearance at Fry's tho!
Monster=fail
Still there... How about this update, on the Reviews, Page 2, you see Engadget linked there on the headphone Monster site.
lol. That is all.
firstly, you can't sue someone for quoting you, even out of context. that's not a reason, it's a form of proof. the only reasons i could think of are copyright infringement, but they're covered by fair use since they did in fact name you as authors, and libel, but there's no reason for that here.
so what's all the damn fuss about?
where's the big issue that they made? it's not like you're not presenting their ads out of context, like that monster difference one. I don't think anyone who asks would be told that both of them are HD... It's just marketing, and everyone does it, starting with your beloved apple...
you overreact for a quote... foolish.
