Sony Ericsson CS8 passes FCC, looking T-Mobile bound
If you were looking for a C905 with just a little dash of AWS 3G thrown in, look no further than this little gem. The so-called CS8 breaks from Sony Ericsson's traditional model naming convention, but they could call this thing the Behold 2 if they wanted to -- all we care is that we're getting access to an 8.1 megapixel slider with myFaves (you can clearly see the myFaves logo plastered on the back of the user manual's diagrams, and yes, it's that important). It also sports Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, and our undying love and affection, so we hope to see you soon, dearest Cyber-shot.

OMG, FCC tortured that phone!
I suppose it wouldn't be the government without some dirty hands involved... jk, I dig the FCC (except for the fact that they aren't cracking down on cable and telecom for having such crappy bandwidth).
Saaaaayyyyy, that's a nice looking phone! Oh wait. No it's not.
is this the one that was supposed to be the first SE android phone?
nope. it was the first 8.1 megapixel phone, i believe. i've had it unlocked on att since end of january.
Wasn't TMO supposed to have some big announcement/shindig today? What happened to that?
this is a nice enough announcement for me! FINALLY some great phones coming to TMO
I think they smoked waaaaaay too much yesterday and forgot.
No it's not an Android phone but I would definitely consider this if the price is right.
Hopefully T-Mobile branding is not as bad as the TM506 and unbranding solution is available.
whats the OS on this thing? some people were speculating that it may run Android....
No it runs on SE proprietary OS.
the c905 as its known in the uk has been out for at least 6 months and must be one of the most faulty phones we sell, earpiece constantly breaks and then the flex ends up going faulty and having to be replaced hope your US version is better
Mobile-Review gave a very good review and it might be my next phone (coming off SE P-series).
iPhone never quite did it for me with it's shortcomings and while the G1 addressed some, not nearly enough (having a good quality camera is just as, if not more, important to me than the web browsing and app stores).
My dream phone would be the physical hardware of the Xperia X1 (or G1) (3.5" 16:9 screen would be nice qwerty side slider), the camera functionality from the C905, and Android. Is it too much that too much to ask?
Bonus points if they can get the 5D jog dial and removable flip from the P-series in there. Made one handed operation so very easy.
nice, love SonyEricsson. they are good fone.
It sucks how mobile phones come out last in America (with the notable exceptions of Blackberrys and iPhones); Europe and Asia have had this model for at least six months already.
Welcome to America!
Where is the C905a for the states? I've been waiting to get any info on it for months now... This version would be great if I was a T-Mobile customer.
Does it take microSD? If not, I'm not interested. I hate Memory$tick!
i was in new york for new year and i met up with some cool american people who we tagged along with randomly in times sqaure. i was taking all my shots on this baby and they where like wtf is that ?
i was like 8.1 megapixel c905 ? they where like o over here we only got the k800a as a top sony ericsson,
Man, that phone is awesome. It is everything i wanted in the k790a.. i might need to upgrade now.
Wow is this the news that Tmobile set up a fancy news conference for?? I am sorely disappointed...was hoping for the release of the G2 or the HTC Diamond 2. Looks like my next phone is coming from overseas unlocked since it takes months for carriers to pick up decent phones in the US.
isnt this supposed to come out on att too? this will be slightly interesting to see the same phone on 2 different carriers.
it will come to att also as the c905a
it better not be any windows mobile or pda shit cause then it will wreck the whole phone
