Bluetribe's new Bluetooth 2.1 audio receiver for iPod speaker docks

While Bluetribe may sound like the name of the DJ collective you used to follow around back in your "rave days" (when you wore dangerously baggy trousers and never awoke before 2:00 PM), it's actually a Japanese outfit known for its Bluetooth headphones and accessories. The company's new Bluetooth Audio Receiver sits in your speaker dock in lieu of your iPod, letting you stream music to it from anywhere in the room -- the perfect gift for folks who hate to walk across the room to switch songs (the extremely lazy, for instance). Available in stunning black or pristine white, this bad boy supports Bluetooth 2.1 and should be hitting retailers in Japan sometime in early May, for a price yet to be announced.

Brilliant. Now I can use any BT enabled audio player (like the Pre or Treo) on any iPlod dock device.
Or like the iPod touch or iPhone...
I love any news coming about regarding the iphone and ipod. I have an iphone and absolutely love it! It is PERFECT! Hell, they should call him Mr. Midas instead of Mr. Jobs because anything Apple touches is GOLD!!!
The Apple Pippin would not be classified as gold...
Pippin came out around 95/96.
Jobs returned to Apple in '97.
Props for the Happy Mondays Vid! I miss the old Factory days, so much great music...

I never wore big trousers or went to raves. Is this a new writer? I hope he's filling in for someone.
so thats where shodan went
It would be badass if this could do wireless sync with a computer. Just plug the receiver into your USB/Firewire cable, the transmitter into the iPod, and sync over the air.
A few of these types have been out for some time, I picked a few on clearance at Best Buy sometime ago, by Insignia, for about $5 each. And they work AWESOME in any dock or those Apple composite AV cables hooked up to a home stereo. Heck I even hooked it into my car stereo's auxilliary and stream bluetooth with my iPhone 3.0!
Absolutely- I bought the Insignia one at Best Buy for $4.99 (The original price said $59.99, no joke)
It works amazing, and is especially useful on the cheap little $10 iPod sound systems you can find just about anywhere. I pop this thing in and tied it to the volleyball pole last summer at the beach and could keep my phone or samsung t10 in my bookbag. Sand is almost worse than water on your electronics IMO...
Same here, clearance at Best Buy a couple years ago maybe.
Would be great to figure out a way to turn any stereo system into a handsfree device for phone calls.
SHODAN?
Would using one of these prevent GSM buzz if you used it with an iPhone? That would be super useful.
Does anyone know if this could work with my Cyber Acoustics a-211 speaker system?
well the price needs to be below $10 shipped. Sprint has one made by AnyCom that works great. Used to be mad about all those iPod docks. Haven't had any issues with it. Controls pass to my Touch Pro just fine.

I've got one as well..
the price is right...
I have one too, and it works very well. Sometimes you can even find them in Sprint stores, that's where I got mine. Although I had to ask for it, they didn't have it on display.
That is straight up rez in the background.
Cortana's ugly friend...lol
DMT and iPod accessories.
I'm over Bluetooth 2.1. I'm looking forward to the end of this year for Bluetooth 3.0
